What made your day a good one

The wiring to the pump on one of our cat water fountains broke ... it's only a few months old, so should be a warranty matter. Having had an absolute bear of a time on one previously (wear and tear, you're not doing it right, have you cleaned it regularly, you didn't buy it direct ... kind of excuses), I was primed for a fight!

Face palm ... just a "contact us" box on the website with no ability to upload receipt or photographs.

But, I get an email back simply saying "Let me have your address, I'll pop a replacement in the post". Gosh! Errr ... okay? Done. In fact, no sooner done than APC are knocking on the door (the very next day) with a parcel ... and it's the replacement pump.

Blimey! I did not expect that (either) ...

Happy cats again, drinking from moving water ... not from standing water in a bowl like the rest of the cat plebs.

The company? Catit. https://catit.co.uk/ < blatant advert based on excellent customer service and aftersales

I was having a mooch in The Perfume Shop yesterday. I wanted to replace my used-up bottle of D & G The One, which is why I was in there. The young lady who served me was very helpful, as they always are in The Perfume Shop. She suggested that I buy a D & G gift set, which included the EDT, shower gel and aftershave balm. She then explained that the set would normally retail at £83, but was currently priced at £65, so an £18 saving. When she told me that, I soon got my wallet out...

That made my day (yesterday) a VERY good one!!

My hens have started laying after the winter break. Got 3 eggs in 2 days great stuff.(y)
Keep your crap supermarket eggs..
I bought supermarket eggs a while back when I run out. Went to crack the first one by hitting it on the bunker before cracking in pan,
Smashed the egg everwhere because the shell was so thin, did not taste as good either. So I never bought any more.
That should be me self sufficient in eggs from now on, summer glut should see me through next winter. Cluck cluck.

I changed the blade on my razor this morning, and actually managed to have a proper shave without cutting myself AT ALL. For me, that is a first. Whenever I have to change a blade, I usually end up with more scars than Rambo.

I then popped to my local branch of Boots to take advantage of their Meal Deal. I love their sandwiches, and they have an excellent selection of them. I usually combine these with a cold drink and a bar of chocolate or bag of crisps. While I was there, I noticed that they had a new stock in of Tabac aftershave, which I use regularly. They had been out of stock for a while, so this pleased me. I noticed that it was at its original price of £15 again, but I don't think that this is too much, so it didn't bother me. I treated myself to another bottle of it while I was in the store today, to make sure that I don't run out of it.

These two things made my day today a good one.

With this insane inflation you could undersell the markets and make out like a bandit!! Here in the USA a dozen eggs is up almost 60% from the price in Dec. 2021!! "Them thar chickens be a shittin' gold, boy!!"
A dozen organic free range eggs cost about £4-5 here, so I'm quids in. (y)
My eggs still taste better though, I might be biased but everyone that I have gave eggs to agrees they do. :)

Hi there,

WE have ducks! Yep, Cayuga black ducks that can handle extreme cold and have a custom built house for when it's just too nasty out here in Colorado.

Chicken eggs here are now around $10 a dozen, which is nuts. It's because of the avian flu plus now chickens are switching to all cage free laying.

Here's a pic,

Martin

That's about £8 a dozen over here that's crazy prices, yeah we have avian flue here and free range eggs are in short supply for same reasons and due to be phased out.
The picture on my post is my hen breed, black rock hens. They sleep outside sometimes even in frosty weather. Hardy buggers.

I recently posted a 'want to buy' some La Savonnire du moulin ( Donkey milk soap from France) and I left the post up for a couple of days but no joy, I always knew it was a long shot because if you have this soap you will absolutely love it and therefore want to keep hold of it.
Within a couple of hours of me taking down my post I was contacted by fellow TSR member @Satanfriendly who said he would send me half of what he had!
This is what made my day a good one.
Thank you Chris, you are a true gentleman and it's people like you that make TSR what it is. Thank you very much indeed. :)

Paul.
