What made your day a crap one??

Having to have our cat put down after developing lung and kidney problems. A great cat and with us for some 16 years. Placid and wonderful with the granddaughters. He will be sadly missed

Sorry about your cat, Pets are not just something to care for, they are equally the same as a family member that are totally loyal to use if treated with care & respect.

Me..I made the decision to contact Royal Mail as im waiting on packages that have been dispatched on the 23rd of June and since it. I haven't received anything from Royal Mail since before that date. Annoyed that I felt the need to email them when they are more than likely doing the best they can through this difficult time. I didn't complain..just asked a few questions. Just hope the packages aren't all lost!

@Satanfriendly Sorry for your loss pal, lost our Chocolate Labrador to kidney failure in March so I understand the hole pets can leave in our lives.

My mother passed several years back but occasionally I used to pop in on one of her very good friends. Unfortunately Lady Constance Lodge passed away the other day at the grand old age of 106!

The last time I saw her I asked if she still receives a birthday card from the queen?

'Oh I seem to have several from her'

RIP and such a loved lady

Damn it! Mrs spotted my car has been scuffed. We do have cameras and I've pinpointed it to a road sweeper on Monday afternoon - you can see the brush arm twang on the back corner of my car as he turns in.

Bloody rigmarole of ringing round to try to get the details. It was a scheduled road sweep, so the Council should have details.

... or suck it up and pay for it myself? Best guess will be a couple of hundred quid. I've had to have that side sprayed before and three panels (front wing, front door and back door) was £300 + the dreaded VAT by my old SAAB Specialist Garage. It's a year old KIA on PCP, so I really should get it sorted (again).

... or, leave it and have all the dings and scratches sorted just prior to trading it in at the end of the three years?

The wife just arrived home from the tennis club and there is a brand new ding in the top of the left front wheel well of her car. It looks as a small truck or van may have backed into the car. The driver of the vehicle did not stick around or leave any contact detail. Fortunately, that part of her Audi has a plastic film overlaying the paint work, so the paint isn't broke even though the dent is quite visible.

Hopefully it will pull out with a little care, the driver of the van or small truck may have been in fear of losing his or her job if reported not that that's any excuse for not leaving his or her details! P.

Hopefully a good pdr man can get to it

Where I live it is usually warm in winters with a few sporadic cold spells, but starting late this past weekend the SHTF. Bad ice storm and sub-zero temps. Then, to add insult to injury, the power went off and has been since Monday at 9AM!! Did I mention as well the city had a main water pipe burst so not only do we not have hot water what water there is has to be boiled. Of course, if you have electric power that's nigh unto impossible unless you fell a tree and start a fire.

The last two nights I have slept fully clothed in winter wear with a couple safety candles as heat and am managing well as I grew up in another area with brutal winters and it toughened me up, e.g., I know how to sh#& in the cold......quickly. ;)

The whole matter has gone political with both sides pointing fingers, but I will just add that from firsthand experience so called "green" energy is a farce under extreme conditions.

I still work daily, but return home to sit in candlelight in sub-zero temp and look & smell like I have been "ridin' the rails" as a veritable hobo. No bath, no shave and if blindfolded you would be hard put to discern the smell of my ass between human & Sasquatch. It only takes but a mere few days to realize (if that) what elevates us above a medieval existence.

Signed,

Mr. Smelly

It sounds pretty grim but it sounds like you're made of the stuff that will get you through it.
I hope everything return's to normal ASAP. Hang on in there!

Paul.
