What made your day a crap one??

Last night was crap for my dog who is petrified by fireworks! I've got a plug in jobby that's supposed to keep a dog calm but it didn't work well if at all!
I will have to get him to the vets next year for some tranquil pills or some such stuff!

We're lucky that our doodle seems to be completely oblivious to them, the postman however... Morbid fear and unbridled anger spring to mind, why do dogs hate them so much?

Hi Paul, maybe try introducing low, maintenance dose of CBD. I'm on the Simply CBD Users Group and a lot of members having success with CBD oil for nervous or over reactive canines. My own girl has had good results in addressing numerous food and contact allergies with just 2 drops daily.

I guess, from the dog's point of view, who is the caller who comes repeatedly to the what he/she regards as the "den", rattles the letterbox or rings or knocks at the door, then gets scared away and makes off. Learned behavioural patterns will cause the dog to give warning of the intruder's approach and attempt to warn them off. The more frequently he succeeds in scaring them away (could be on an almost daily basis, some weeks) the more reinforced the pack defense reflex will become.
He or she just loves you as his pack, feels secure in his den and is demonstrating natural protective instincts.
