What made your day a crap one??

Bike been sent to garage but not looking good. minimum cost is 900 quid for the fairings and the damaged indicators and twisted front forks. Worst case scenario is total loss and written off. Fair play to the driver who has put his hands up to it.

Might end up War & Peace but it needs some background:

About 6 months ago MrsB and her friend had been going on paranormal ghost hunt things run but two married blokes (married to each other). Basically you pay £40 each and they take a group of about 15 around a supposed haunted location and try and contact spirits. All a load a horse crap but MrsB believed it and it was perking her up what with her current condition and all.

After her and her mate had been to a couple events these blokes asked them to come on board at "team members" helping promote and helping out at events. All unpaid as they are trying to grow the business but they'd get to go to these events for free so seemed a decent trade off.

Anyway, a week ago things went sour when one of these blokes sent the girls a very snotty email saying they were suspended until they complied to improve the quality of their work. As they were "working" at least 2 hrs every day promoting the events online they decided to just tell them to shove it.

The paranormal groups on FaceBook they were promoting the events on got wind and people started coming out of the woodwork telling tales of how these guys have ripped them off financial and destroyed websites etc.

Last night however MrsB got a voice mail on her mobile from Merseyside police wanting to speak to her regarding allegations from these two guys. The message said he'd contact her again on Monday. She hasn't been posting anything bad about them but the community seems to be up in arms against these guys and I think they're trying to make out its her doing.

Not much sleep has been had.

2017 is the year of Mark.
Just hang in there for another 35 days or so.

Always a chance it's them on a wind up Mark. As an ex cop, our usual practise was normally to ask citizens to 'phone us to make arrangements for enquiries. Working on the basis that we had someone available 24/7 to take messages and arrange a meet. Sorry your fortunes continue to deteriorate.

I did think that. The message gave a number to call up to 11 o'clock and then he won't be available until Monday when he'll call again. We can only take at face value but I have told MrsB to say to the "officer" how can he prove he his who he claims. MrsB doesn't seem to be worried about the whole thing I however am a natural born worrier.

Hard not to worry. But obviously SWMBO has nothing to worry about, that will come out. May well just be that they feel she can help them sort these people out . All the best to you both, and I hope it all gets sorted out quickly.

If he's genuine he should give you the tel no of a Police Office or control room which is publically available. Whoever answers should identify the office and can then switch you through to whatever extension he supplied to you. This question of fake claims to be cops is not at all unusual so we were quite accustomed to concerned members of the public confirming they were speaking to a genuine enquiry officer.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll post back the outcome.

I'm wondering if I'm make Christmas at this rate! My liver probably won't!

Frustrating, isn't it? Next step is pull it off, see if it opens and shuts while not in situ. Euro car parts will be sick of me before long!
Update. Didn't open and shut fully while off, for whatever reason it's getting stuck half way or just not fully closing for whatever reason. Filled the bastard with wd40, shakey shakey, run a hose through it and then filled with coolant and shakey shakey again. Now it's closing fully as it should. Off the car.

So back on it goes and now we just hope it continues to close fully. Could be a bit of debris or something blocking it from fully closing that's now been dislodged, or it could seize again. If that's the case it will be back to euro for another. At least the problem is diagnosed!

Edit: this is a wahoo after my crap first attempt, so seemed appropriate to post here.

Drafts Excluded! Insulation replaced over the large areas it had been moved from(!?!) Spray foam applied - warmer house!
Burner was going all day yesterday but I didn't bank it overnight AND MY BEDROOM WAS STILL WARM THIS MORNING . Real test will be when the frost hits but so far so good.

Just to wind this up. After a few missed calls the police finally caught up with MrsB today.

He stated that he had already told the gentlemen that MrsB post was legal and not offencive and nothing could or should be done. Apparently they continued to call the officer to the point he decided to visit them and view the facebook post himself. Again he didn't see any harm in the post (it just stated that she no longer worked for them and brief reasons and wished them well) but they still protested that she should remove it.

After looking at other peoples comments one man put a reply that he would "Smash their faces". The police officers said that this was more offensive and why this hadn't been reported yet a woman simply making it known she no longer worked for them was? After the passed week they continued to call asking the police for an update.

He was very apologetic and never asked her to remove the post. He asked if she knew the man making threats which she doesn't, its an open group any facebook members can join and post. He asked the reasons for leaving the company and she told him her safety concerns regarding their dangerous driving and that they would drink a bottle of vodka up to 4:30am and then drive after a few hours sleep at 9:30am, fighting and arguing and driving above the speed limit in temper. This grabbed his interest although said he did state it's after the fact and they cannot investigate.

He apologised again, reassured her that this incident wasn't even logged on the computers as he didn't even consider it being worth the time and paperwork. He'll contact the gentlemen in question and tell them nothing will pursued.

All good in the end. It's obvious that the police were involved as a scare tactic and that the main aim was to get MrsB to remove her post as it damages their business, mission unsuccessful. The constable did mention something along these lines and that he'd be keeping an eye on them. So, it looks like all they actually succeeded in doing it p*ssing off a copper.

I'd dearly love to be a fly on the wall when the police call and tell them no action is being taken. They are very "control freak" and the fact they didn't get their own way I can practically hear their heads exploding from here! They have an event tonight so it would be unfortunate if their emotions flowed over to spoil their performance ;).

Karma, she's a right beetch isn't she? (I'm still giggling)
