Just had to buy a Semouge OC boar with cherry wood handle to sit beside my OC boar with ash wood handle.
A good price from the lounge with my points I had saved.
I do have a weakness for Semouge OC brushes and now I have them all P.

Have you purchased from Maguires recently may I ask @Oomer? I was going to place an order with them but read quite a few horror stories of items not arriving, no replies to emails etc.

Omega boar knots are simply better than semogue knots in my opinion. Is the handle metal or metal looking plastic? either way looks good

It's plastic but that doesn't bother me as I don't tend to rub the handle over my face. For me omega boar knots are far superior to semogue's.
Just my opinion. They really do split and curl on the tips far better than semogue's. Again just my opinion

I've never ordered from them. I was looking to pick up a couple of Speick bits and they had some fair prices so I was all set to make a purchase...Thought I'd do a quick Google search to see if there were any known discount codes for them and it brought up lots of forum posts from 12 ish months ago where people had to open Paypal disputes to get a refund.

I bought a tub of Figaro shaving soap and Palmolive menthol cream last week and everything went smooth, more than a month ago bought Prep pre-post shave cream(alternative to proraso) and I received it with no problems.

I had a problem with them over a year ago(received someone else's order and take them over a week to send my order), as a 'sorry for the mess up' gift received a sample of proraso and 3p pre-post cream. You never know, everything may go smooth, lets hope it does. Good Luck

I think they must have sorted any problems they were having but it's going to leave a nasty taste in your mouth if you was one of those unlucky customers a year ago, good reputations are hard to build up and real easy to lose with a few bad moves.

Fair play if they sorted out problems.. for me their customer service and communication was none existent. No explanation, no apology, nothing..they took my money though.
There are so many wonderful UK vendors who consistently deliver good service to waste time using a company who don't care and can't do the basics. That said I hope those who have ordered recently have smooth sailing, so to speak.

I agree and I don't remember myself reporting negative about any vendor and especially if they correct the mistake, then everything is ok.
