What are you listening to?

Eva Cassidy - Fields Of Gold

I'm currently listening to her Greatest Hits CD. I just love her voice, and her arrangements are extremely soothing. I'm going out on a limb now, but I actually prefer her version of this song to the original by Sting. She has a much better voice than him too, IMO.

Thank you for that. I have never liked Sting very much, even back in his Police days. I never thought that he was much of a singer. Eva did some sublime versions of other songs too. I could easily listen to her for hours.
 
Rita Coolidge - All Time High

Another of my Bond theme favourites. It's an incredibly under-rated song, and was not a hit in the UK singles charts back in the day, but I have always had a soft spot for it. I certainly don't think of it as "elevator music", which some unkind critics have called it. I don't think it's a bad song at all.

Bugger, that brought back memories, love the Jam. I can remember years ago waiting with the living room of my parents being full of my friends, standing room only waiting for the new Jam song to be played. Good times. Going to have to pull out my Jam LPs for a bit of a sesh. Not tonight though, beer night. (y)
