What are you listening to?

My late father used to own a copy of The War Of The Worlds album. He often used to stay up late and listen to it at full blast, usually when he was pissed. I don't ever recall him playing it while he was sober. A bit of an insult, really, lol.

Don't know what happened to it. I don't remember him throwing it away, so I guess it's still among our old albums somewhere. Must be worth a mint by now...

Not sure, I picked my copy up for a few quid. Although some years ago now so maybe if its mint.
I think that my father bought the album on its original release, back in the late 1970s. I think it was released in around 1978, IIRC. So, it would be an original copy of the original album. It might be worth something, because you hear stories of original albums in original packaging selling for a reasonable amount, especially if they are in good condition. That's the theory, anyway. I don't think it's signed, but then my father wasn't really the type to go to album or book signings. It would obviously be worth considerably more if it was signed.

Folk Noir, anyone?

I'm a huge fan of him, ever since I discovered his earlier alter ego 'Third Eye Foundation' as a teenager, when I pulled up a random promo CD in Beanos (RIP), mainly down to the first track had a comical title ('I've Lost That Loving Feline'), back in the day of CD shops and buying albums before you heard them. One of the few times I did that and stumbled across an absolute gem.

I went to see him play a few years ago supported by Peter Walker, which might have been one of the finest gigs I ever went to.

This track sounds a bit more like his solo material
