Has anyone bought one recently, I have messaged Alastair on his fb site and await his reply, I just want to know the prices, particularly the 3" latigo, have you bought any strop from westholm ?, just looking for a rough price in case it is out of my budget. TIA.

PS. Do we have a strop section ?
 
I have only seen Cordovan on his facebook and on forums lately.

edit: What is the difference between Latigo and Bridle? Both start out as cowhide but then...

As I am a impatient bugger, what is the next best to Westholme, I dont like the buying setup, it seems a bit hit n miss, you need to keep looking into the FB page to see if any have been put up for sale and it is first to pm gets the strop/strops. I cannot be arsed with that, if as a buyer you want a certain item you should not have to chance luck to see if you get one, big companies take your order and bob's your uncle, I know Alastair is a small business but there must be a better way, I will look for a 2nd hand one or a different one altogether.
 
Your best bet is Maggards. You might even get lucky with customs...
I don't know what else you have. On the off chance you have a Razor Emporium strop, you can buy only the Latigo replacement piece. Good luck!

I have a vtg Shell, a 3" Bridle, and unnamed very stiff leather strop, I would like a nice soft latigo :)

The postage and import customs make it hard to buy from maggards. Just been over and priced them up and it just takes the fun out of buying, I can get a Parkers latigo cheaper off ebay, that will likely be my choice.
 
Got my Westholme strop this morning, beautiful and a joy to look at, the workmanship is first class, I wanted latigo with a stuffed croc handle, I did not want a linen part, the linen I have right now really is the best, it is irish silk/linen on a vtg shell strop and I use that whenever I feel the need. There are many choices you can pick from, from stunning horween in different colours with mix n match handles, you really should take a look even if only to admire the work.

may I ask how much the latigo is
