Vintage 7 O'Clock Razor

This was a bit of an impulse buy from a well known auction site. I clearly wasn't paying attention and didn't realise this was a travel-sized handle. It looks to be a mini version of the Gillette Ball end handle and I wasn't sure such a thing existed. I'm not entirely disappointed. Just not what I was expecting. Still merits a clean and polish I think.

To be fair it's likely to be better than the original handle, which is hollow and not very nice.
The head is a very nice razor. Pair it with a handle of your choice and enjoy.
I think the 'flat bottoms' are the best of the NEW's.

It's my first open comb. After a bit of reading I know this is a good one and has no bent teeth and only some fine scratches on the top cap. Imperial thread on the top cap of course but, I've got a Baili Tech clone with a handle that fits just fine. Looking forward to using it.

Looks like the thin ball end handle that came on some Canadian Gillettes, should be around three inches.

Nickel head and brass handle, I'd say someone swapped it.
Handle is 2.75" and 3/8" diameter. I have no doubt it was swapped as I can't find any similar 7 'clock setups in any searches. Have never seen the box either. I knew that before I purchased and to be honest it's really just the head I was interested in. Let's face it, even in perfect condition, it was never going to be a family heirloom anyway. :)

Family heirlooms are whatever they are! Very cool.

7 o clocks are one of my fav,s along with techs & superspeeds , the build quality of 7oc,s is very good ,possibly the best gillette that was,nt made by gillette ....... great shavers very efficient & smooth imho.......... ENJOY!!!!!!:giggle:
Just tried it for the first time last night and I fully agree. Very smooth and efficient. Only needed 2 passes rather than the usual 3. They clearly knew something about making good razors back in the day.
