Closed UK Pass Around: Bunny Razor V3 - Finished.

Two shaves in, time for an initial report. Looking back over other reports in this thread, my thoughts seem to echo several other testers' experiences.

Context: I first used an Injector about 4 or 5 years ago (a Golden 500). From the first shave, I found it intuitive and efficient in use. I've owned J, I and L type Injectors, and this year settled on an L1 as my most used razor, usually loaded with Chinese or Japanese Schick blades.

Before use: The Bunny is extremely well made and aesthetically I find the elegant simplicity very pleasing. Comb changing is simple and smooth. As noted previously, the copper spring is looking tarnished. Loading a fresh blade was trouble free.

1st shave: NOTSO comb, Chick blade, usual two pass routine (WTG then XTG), loads of slick lather courtesy of the mighty La Toja stick.

Mindful of previous advice on angle and using no pressure, I tackled two days' growth. It was fairly easy to find the optimum cutting angle, but it's the most upright handle angle I've experienced on any razor and it felt awkward to me, especially on the XTG pass. Combined with the size of the head, this also made it tricky reaching right under my nostrils. It will be interesting to see if I get used to this over the next few shaves.

The Bunny is an efficient razor! The end result was outstanding. Apart from the aforementioned problem under the nose, the rest of my face was as smooth as I could ever hope for after my usual two passes.

2nd shave: Same setup and routine as yesterday. I adapted to the upright angle more easily today, but still had difficulty under the nose. The rest of my face, as before, was smoother than George Clooney in a vat of baby oil.

I may try the MILD comb tomorrow, and report back again after few days of use.

I switched to using the MILD comb for the last couple of shaves, and it is still extremely efficient. I've not had the opportunity to deal with more than a two day growth, but I imagine the Bunny would excel on longer stubble.

The razor feels aggressive in that it seems like it could bite if you lose concentration for a moment. I haven't had any nicks or weepers, but my face felt a little raw after two consecutive days of two passes using the NOTSO comb. This may well have been down to user error.

My time is almost done with the Bunny, and I will be passing it on this week. I have contacted p.b for his details. Final report will follow soon.

My time with the Bunny has come to an end, and it is now on it's way to @p.b

I've enjoyed using the Bunny - it's a great razor with many qualities I appreciate, plus a couple that don't quite suit my personal preferences. It is both elegant and functional in design, and is unquestionably one of the most efficient razors I have ever used. Even a one-pass shave with the MILD comb yielded results almost as close as 2 passes with some other razors I've used (or even closer, hello Tech).

I've used countless different razors over the last six years, and Injectors have become my preferred choice. In my experience (I've only owned and used Schick J, I and L types) a Schick L1 is about as good as it gets for me. Using that as my benchmark, the downsides of the Bunny relate to the head size and shaving angle: I found that the head size makes reaching directly under the nostrils trickier than I'd like, and although I was quickly able to find the correct angle, it never felt truly comfortable.

Tom should rightfully feel proud of his design, and I wish the best of luck to the project, as the Bunny certainly deserves greater recognition. Many thanks to Tom @twhite510 and Andreas @riverrun for making this Pass Around happen.

All great questions. As for making the wild comb, wilder. That is totally doable. There is a point of diminishing returns shall we say. If there is too much exposure. The comb will no longer serve as a guide. You would need to apply pressure to the razor to make contact.

I do not know that point. As I have not made any more combs with more exposure.

As for the handle. My second version V2 has a removable handle. Being able to use a different handle was one of my early goals. However the unique head design. Does not lend itself to most handle designs. It would not look right. That is one reason for the single piece design.

Glad you are enjoying it.

Sixth shave with the bunny.
I'm not actually seeing any difference in the closeness of a shave between the three combs. The difference I feel is that the WILD comb is slightly less angle finicky. I'm getting some nice close shaves but shaving under my nose is hard work and I think it's too angle sensitive. I've split my Bunny shaves with two Cobra shaves and they were much more intuitive but with the same result.
