UK meteorology

I for one really appreciate your input here Chris, it is much appreciated. I am hiring a JCB for a week and am keen to know when we will have a clear 7 days without too much disruption in the South Wales border.
On another note we have just experienced the heaviest thunder storms with tremendous thunder, lightning and hale stones that I have seen in many years.

Your area has had a huge amount of rain with very strong convection recently. Malcolm has posted an update this morning, which might give you some idea of when not to take on the job!

There are signs of a possible improvement with warmer, drier conditions establishing themselves around the 18th to 21st, though there have been similar suggestions from the models that didn't verify.
Thanks for the heads up Chris. It looks like we are in for a week of disruption again next week.
I am desperate for a break in the weather.

Yellow Met Office weather warnings ("Be Aware") from Monday through to Thursday for rain - Monday & Tuesday for East Anglia, parts of the East Midlands, London and parts of the Home Counties, and Wednesday & Thursday for eastern England from the Wash to the Scottish Border:

What has Cornish Malcolm have to say about the up and coming weather down here, it's been a mixed bag for the last couple of weeks, i need to cut the grass if it drys for a few days. P.
Here's his latest summary, from this morning:

By the way, TPV is the tropospheric polar vortex, which I covered in earlier posts in this thread.

Knocker, what's going on with the summer, got some surfing to do and BBQing to do! :) P.
I'll ask him from you!;)

Here, the past couple of days have seen our area, which has experienced broadly below-average rain for over a year now some much-needed precipitation. In my local area, we're at 4 mm below the average monthly rainfall for June already this early in the month.

Anyway, here is Malcolm's post for this morning:
