Bic are currently offering a metal version of their Flex Hybrid 5 for £2.00. It requires a subscription which can be cancelled immediately. You get one razor and one cart. I haven't used mine yet, but I wasn't impressed by the Flex 4 disposable. Gillette are also offering a Fusion FlexBall manual for £1.99. This includes a £4.00 off voucher for Fusion blades. Wow, these are now expensive.

After a week, the Gillette Fusion Proglide Flexball arrived (1 handle and 1 cartridge). It comes with some kind of vouchers for buying blades.

I asked my cousin to buy me a Fusion 5 blades pack at Asda, so I will be able to start testing the razor very soon. Frankly I have never used a 5 blades cartridge before. On the other hand my beard is pretty soft (I can shave with almost any disposable) so it should not be too hard to get a decent shave from the Flexball.

The Flexball is one of the most efficient razors I have ever used.
Alas! It's boring and the cartridges are a bit dear.
£5 for 4 cartridges is OK though. Why didn't I see this before I last went to ASDA?

The truth is that my cousin had to look very thoroughly in the aisle, so that he had the ASDA staff worried (they asked him what he was looking for ...) The packs were not easy to find in the supermarket and the staff had to bring him the packs.

"Efficient" is not the word I would choose so much as I would "overkill". After all, do we use a five bladed knife to cut a steak? I can feel my whiskers wincing in fear of ingrowns merely by looking at it.

Would you cut a steak with a butter knife? :)

I went to Asda today and they still had the blades for £5, so I bought some and actually used one in my Flexball.
Just as expected - a very close, boring shave. And I forgot the other drawback: SLIME!!!
