This time next week I will be in Florida! Just checking, I presume I am ok to take any DE shaving gear, ie blades especially, on the flight, as long as its in checked hold luggage, and not hand luggage?

I don't really fancy cart shaving for 2 weeks. Last time I flew, Summer 2017, was just before my first foray into DE shaving. I had just started my short stint of Fusion power 5-blade cart shaving, which left me sore, and remember being mightily relieved to get back to my trusty 3-blade Wilkinson Sword Protector 3 carts.

Will probably take my Gamechanger, a few blades, a couple of shaving creams in those mini pots with screw lids, Muhle brush in travel tube, and one balm.

Yes all good. Until recently I was travelling to and from the US quite a bit. In theory you are good to put the DE razor in your hand luggage as long as you have the blades in checked. But occasionally you get a UK security or US TSA agent that doesn't know what they are and that can cause extra problems.

Holiday gear :

One brush in travel tube, one razor in travel pouch, one blade (well, several of the same). Then in mini pots, two creams, a balm, a moisturiser and even a stand, inside a plastic travel bowl (used T&H shaving cream bowl). Quite impressed I managed to get 5 things into that screw top tub. Time to hit the Florida theme parks & beaches!

When I fly with just hand luggage I sometimes take an old EJ DE89, on the theory it wouldn't be too bad a loss if confiscated by a zealous security official. I either post blades ahead or count on buying some at my destination. Only once has an official examined the razor, and then I think it was more out of interest on his part.
