Transferring between PCs

The computer you were looking at had two 1TB hard drives. If you went for this one in the end, then it's probably best to put your documents and stuff on the hard drive that doesn't contain the operating system. That way, if you need to reinstall Windows down the line you can just format the HD containing the operating system, leaving all your pics and stuff intact on the other one.

get a program called freecommander it will help in the process...a dual pane filemanager

Hey just downloaded it. It looks good. Looks like the file manager when I used to go out to work. Reckon the 'professional' computers have it on them sometimes, but a Windows version. Thanks n1vlo!

What's the problem Pig Cat? I'd just connect up the hard drive and copy over the folders containing the stuff you want to keep (My Documents, My Pictures....etc.). No point in copying over your whole C: drive.

Carefully selected folders ;)

I'm just beginning to think it would be a good idea if I occasionally saved stuff to CDs.....every time I upgrade my computer, another few years of family photos bites the dust.
You guys are waaaay ahead of me.

Sound familiar Jeltz, or should I say 'Vereen'?
