Contrary to what I said yesterday, I took a one day pause of the pre-Ulysses soap. Today I used TOBS Coconut.

Hard to compare it to your soap, but the NSS leaves my face feeling a bit smoother, I think.

All good then so far. Better still, I think I've found a printer who can do the tins and so far appears to know how to read and understand what is being said, unlike the last one.

Bearing in mind that an Opus is a large scale artistic work or composition, how about " Opus 14 " for the new creation's name ? We're already up to 14 pages on this thread, or, alternatively, Opus whatever the final number of tweaked versions terminates at. And Big Bro B has already described the latest version in almost symphonic terms.

Opus and a nuuber makes naming future soaps easy enough! Soap makers being soap makers, there will be another soap - but t'ain't really necessary. Fat Ulysses is where it's at, man!

Opus 1 is another distinct possibility. I see how you felt the need to explain what that is @JohnnyO - guess it's because I admitted I couldn't plough through Ulysses. I'm hoping if this printer works out and is as fast as promised, weekend after next we may be good to go.

To be fair to both of us, I'm guessing it's a pretty large club. I'm still planning on reading it one day.....but I have a lot of plans like that.:)

As I said before, I would try the soap with a cartridge razor as well. Here goes:

Gillette Contour razor
Wilkinson Sword Profile cartridge
Omega Hi-Brush synthetic brush
NSS mystery soap
Tabac Original after shave

The Hi-Brush is not easy to please, and the lather it created with this soap was good but not special. To be fair, that's no worse than e.g. ARKO, or the Palmolive stick.

The lather does not clog the cartridge, which is very good. Protection is good, and post shave feel is very good as well.

I have just two wishes:
- more slickness (which I understand is there in the improved version)
- a harder soap; I love hard soaps more than the soft ones.

Don't bother Soapy One ! Just say that you have a pal who has and he says it's not really worth the time. It was, to me, a bit like reading a book of ' stream of conciousness ' disconnected zen koans. I achieved neither sartori nor yet satisfaction. Perhaps it was just me.
