Tell me about shave sticks!

I had my first shave with a Palmolive stick the other day. Amazing vfm for 50p , good lather and inoffensive (if a little, erm, institutional) scent. I bought it for traveling, but might get a spieck as it comes in a tube arrangement which is a little more practical than the Palmolive.

I use either Harris Lavender or Tabac shave sticks when I travel. Although I like the Tabac I find it bulky for my kit role. The Harris stick, however, is slimmer and better suited for me, albeit much pricier than the Tabac.

I find shaving sticks to be a very efficient way to get hard soap on your face so you can lather it with a brush. Yes, using a puck in the same way is also perfectly alright. Proper shaving sticks are the "killer app" for traveling with a hard soap.

Find one, or two, or more that you like and enjoy.

I've got La Toja, D R Harris Lavender, Tabac and Palmolive. They all perform very well
I'm tempted to try Arko too

I went through a phase of Arko years ago. Good performer, but now I look back I think to myself,
'how on Earth did you get along with that scent!'
I guess it's part of the learning curve. Some you move on from, and some, you come back to.

I'm in the process of trying to use up all my soaps before buying/trading any new ones.
This started a year ago and I'm nowhere near finishing them. The Mrs is not happy lol.

Like many others, I'd like to show some love for La Toja. If you, or anyone you know is going to Spain, they can be
picked up for a couple of Euros each. I grate 2 into a container and use them as a 'normal' soap. No complaints whatsoever.
