Hello everyone;
This is not exactly shave related, it's for a product heads up, so if this post is in the wrong section please accept my apologies and feel free to remove. Shaving, Hand and Bath soaps with old(Tallow) formula are dying slowly and from my experience, leaving the heavy, dense and cushiony lather to a lighter and a bubbly sort of foamy lather. Today when I was doing my food shopping(Morrison's) I was looking at the soaps and saw the budget/saver soap which was triple pack for 50p if I am not wrong, I looked at the ingredients and the first on the list is Sodium Tallowate. Anyway I bought it and tried; the lather is very similar to the old Imperial Leather a nice thick cushiony and dense lather, scent is a very weak soapy scent. I guess it worths a try for anyone likes the old soaps.

Thanks for the tip, I will pick up some the next time I pass Morrisons.

I've been using the hand/bath soaps from Lidl for a while, the unscented ones (and the Aloe Vera ones) for a while and they also have Sodium Tallowate as the first ingredient. It's a good soap.

However, my soap of choice is the Turkish one 'Dailan' I think. It also has Sodium Tallowate as the first ingredient. The Olive Oil one in particular is very good, it seems to last for a very long time as well.

Yes, I like using different soaps for hand/face washing and try which ever I can like Spanish soap selections from Gemstone, Classic old-school British soaps like Pears, Imp.Leather, Lifebuoy etc.. But for shower and instead of shampoo I always use Turkish white soaps like Haci Sakir, Dalan, Duru with Arko kind of scents, sometimes I use their green soaps but I prefer white ones.

I have used asda cheap soap for years (with tallow) as it is the only soap that does not irritate my skin. 3 bars for 40p. Bargain.I have 5 packs in cupboard in case they stop making it. Mmm that's only 15 bars ,might need some more.:)

I recently bought a hand soap, from a known brand, that had tallow in a local market.
Couldn't remember the brand so I searched online (it was between Dove and Nivea).
I found it was nivea, but it has a different formulation in other markets besides EU (at least Brasil and India) with sodium palmate and sodium palm kernelate.

So, in the EU:

Nivea creme soft (white package):

Sodium Tallowate, Sodium Cocoate, Aqua, Glycerin, Parfum, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil, Mel, Glyceryl Glucoside, Maltodextrin, Sodium Thiosulfate, Sodium Chloride, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Trilaureth-4 Phosphate, Linalool, CI 77891, CI 11680, CI 12490

Nivea Creme Care (blue package):

Sodium Tallowate, Sodium Cocoate, Aqua, Glycerin, Parfum, Octyldodecanol, Lanolin Alcohol (Eucerit®), Panthenol, Glyceryl Glucoside, Sodium Thiosulfate, Sodium Chloride, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Methyl Benzoate, Benzyl Alcohol, Linalool, Limonene, Geraniol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, CI 77891
