Taking Razor without Blades in Hand Luggage

I have to go on a trip with work and wanted to take my new Paradigm with me, the baldes etc will be in hold luggage, but wanted to take the actual Razor with me in Hand Luggage , anyone had issues doing this to and from the US ?

It could be possible but I wouldn't risk it. Well, but that's down to how I look, which is a 30 something fella with a rucksack and brown skin which isn't a look very popular with Customs and Immigration (I now carry my own rubber gloves when flying).

I'd be reluctant to carry a plastic spoon with me on a plane, especially one flying to the USA.

I've had my plastic Wilky ignored completely, and a TTO taken out for visual inspection, but never had a DE taken off me (never tried to take the blades on board). If you're worried about it you could disassemble it before getting there so it looks less razor-y.

I can't see them trying to take it off you, but as others have noted, I probably wouldn't bother taking it either (unless they're sending you on a six-month sabbatical).

Why would you want to take such an expensive razor on holiday?

Personally I would take a cartridge razor.
I'm going for work not Holiday unfortunately , and I like to have a nice Razor etc. to enjoy while there. The Paradigm is a new toy so that's why I am thinking of taking it , as sometimes it gives you the chance to get to know a razor as you are not changing all the time.

I've travelled around the world with work (A seaman) and happy for everything to go in the hold baggage. Never been an issue.

If you carry the razor in person some security personel will be fanatic the blades are likewise and you can expect a search.

Stick it in your hold luggage and be done with. Either that or as suggested take a cartridge and remove any concerns.

Risk of hold baggage getting lost is far lower than that of confiscation or potentially worse...

Indeed. And if they see a razor and can't find the blades it wouldn't be unusual for them to confiscate the razor. What overseas security do compared to over here are two different things.

I've had the rubber glove treatment before in the US. Somehow I think they enjoyed it more than me.
