Supply provision single edge

I would love a matt black one....but I will probably wait until they reach the UK. I just got the current model last week. I have had 4 three pass BBS shaves and am actually quite shocked as to how effortless the shaves have been. I am really, really impressed. I havent even tried the agressive plate yet!
Yes you're probably right on both counts, Matt black and bought in the UK. It is for me a great razor too although I tend just to use the aggressive plate. I like it so much I even bought the mirror polished one as well as the satin finnish, fantastic razor in use and killer looks....what's not to like? :)

Did we ever get a final verdict on how using cut down DE blades in this razor worked? Blademonkey?
Well yes, infact I'm using one today, a cut down Personna 74 with a shim made out of a slightly shorter peice of razor blade to ensure
I eliminated any blade flex and it seems to work just fine, giving me real close shaves. The shim was the point it became a safe option because before that the cutting edge of the blade had a tendency / oppertunity to chatter or flex a little so I've not only increased the thickness of the blade being held in the razor head with the addition of the shim I've eliminated any flex, so now just the last 1mm of the cutting blade is now visible . So although the SE purists will be jumping up and down shouting it not an SE blade I've refined someone else's idea with the addition of the shim and it works just fine. Any DE blade you like you can now safely use in the Supply and get a great shave at a fraction of the cost of Schick or even Personna SE blades. If you need any further info give me a shout. :)

Hehe good on you. I didn't have a problem with the blade flex but will give a shim a try.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg @pj3r ,this is what you need to make a shim for when using a cut down DE blade in your Supply SE....one DE razor blade, cut both sides so they are the same size as a SE blade....easy. Now, one of those sides will be your cutting blade and the other one you will need to take off the sharp edge on a sharpening stone or a brick or anything that you can use to blunt the shim. The shim needs to be 1mm shorter as you can see on the far right of the picture. Once you have done this you put the shim in front of the cutting blade and this will leave you about 1 mm of cutting blade exposed....see picture. This not only gives the razor head a thicker blade to grip but it also will stop any possibility of blade chatter or blade flexing when shaving. When you put the blade in the razor make sure you push the shim up with your finger nail so that an even cutting edge is showing....see picture. I hope this helps.

Where did you get Personna 74 blades that cheaply? :p

I was very kindly gifted a few by a fellow member, I have only used one of these blades like this and am using the others in my DE razors.
It just had to be done and I want to see how many shaves I get from my half Personna blade, you will have noticed that my shim was not made from the other half of the Personna 74 but from a feather blade! :) so still one half to be used, also I have done this with other blades so it wasn't like an experiment that could go wrong and ruin a blade like that, me no silly :) Ive found it to work well with any top tier blade, it was just I felt it needed a shim to prevent any chatter.
