successfully transitioning to DE wet-shaving

It's less than a month since i started finally having great results with DE shaving but i already ask myself what took me so long to abandon that crap, pricey plasticky multiblades.

Good work. Here's another thing. You've got a set of kit there that will do the job marvellously. Nothing wrong with the palmolive cream at all, and although there are 12,492 different types of brush on the market, that one will no doubt creat a decent lather. You are at peak simplicity right now.

That'll all change of course, and in 3 months you'll have the acquisition fever....

i'm going to control the monkey ;) i will only add the r41 head to my EJ86 and that's it.
I will only add, and that's it..We all say that!..The R41 is a very efficient razor. Good preparation respect, technique & 'NO PRESSURE' is the golden rule with the R41, I've trained my mind to 'Shave the lather from my face, rather than the stubble and use the weight of the razor & blade adding limited pressure or non at all, 'especially with the R41. Aggressive blades work well with non-aggressive razors, and vice versa.

A work mate of mine ventured into the wonderful of traditional wet shaving and only lasted 3 months or so,he ended up passing on most of his shaving kit to me...I don't try to convert the only humble advice I can give is, give it try if you can, See what works for you, and don't worry too much about anyone else's opinion or what other people are using. Nobody is standing on the other side of the mirror making biased judgements. The face you're shaving is your own, and you don't have to satisfy anyone but yourself. The wonderful thing about traditional wet shaving for me is that there are so many good products out there and there literally is something for just about everyone..,Get to know your shaving kit, practice your tecnique & gain your shaving confidence, don't expect too much too soon, doing so you'll be rewarded with some error-free sublime shaves. Most importantly ,enjoy your new traditional wet shaving experience.
