Seen a couple of razors I want to buy from across the pond (they seem to have all the filis and herders at the moment ). Does anybody know how much the customs fee will cost or is it based on the price of the razor or size/weight of the package? I bought a few strops from Tony Miller a few weeks back and got stung for about £80 just on customs

That has just made my life so much easier thank you!

I just bought a "C-MON" razor from usa, the blade cost £25 and the postage was £11, this is the cheapest deal on postage I have had, I also today got a email from Royal Mail to say they have recieved notification of a package shipped to me and there will be a customs and excise charge applied to it. This has happened before and I was able to pay online and get the razor delivered, it is better than the postman putting a grey card through your letterbox and having to go to local dist office, the good news is that the parcel is now in London, so I should hopefully get it soon

I bought a strop thinking it was a good deal. Got hit for vat at 20% and £8 royal mail handling charge. What was a good deal turned into not a good one at all. Unlike europe where no vat and no handling charge at the moment.
There are a few European auction sites which appear cheaper than uk ebay at the moment in deed a guys selling 3/8 le gregot on ebay for over 30 here in uk has listed then to start at €5!
