stick recomendations

What are the drharris sticks like ? Not cheap I know or are there any artisan ones out there ?
I've used the Harris Lavender stick for several years for travel. It makes excellent lather, leaves my skin in good nick and smells very nice, but it is expensive; hence it's not good value. I've started using a Tabac stick, which is a lot cheaper and works almost as well. I think the next stick I buy will be TOBS St James; it's less than half the cost of a Harris stick and I expect it'll perform equally as well.

IMO, it's hard to look past the German tallow sticks for performance

Tabac
Speick
Palmolive
Wilkinson Sword

Speick, without a shadow of a doubt Speick :)

+1 to all of these and I echo the sentiments for Speick. Recently started using one and it is absolutely superb. Better than Palmolive - smells great and performance is just top notch.

Tabac is of course good but the size is huge and may be a problem for some whilst travelling.

Wilkinson is also good but I don't get along well with it due to the lanolin content.

Any idea where to buy it? can't seem to find it

You can get Speick from Connaught Shaving, who have a great selection of shaving items in stock.

The Valobra Stick is not being made at this moment in time, and old stocks seem to be thin on the ground. IMO, the lather it produces isn't a million miles from Mitchell's Wool Fat, so for an alternative which is easy to source it'd be my choice if I was looking for an alternative.
