SOTD : Saturdy 28th March to 3th April 2020

I had such a close shave yesterday using my 6/8 Kropp I hardly have a need for a shave today! :) so maybe another straight razor shave tomorrow!
It must be all the skin stretching involved that gives what appears to be a closer shave than with a DE razor although I get close shaves with a DE but the stubble grows back quicker, it's odd that I've only just noticed this!

Have a good day whatever you are doing,

Paul.

My theme for this particular shave was 'A week of tugging'

IMG_20200330_193331.jpg

Pulling on a long length - Brass Colonial General
Handling a short length - Schick Proline
Pulling from behind - Razorock 400
Pushing in - L'Occitane Cade

Nearly the end of a week at work, a week of being socially sensible and a week of being captive onboard. It has been a good week for letting the Chief Mate do some tugging while I observed and took photos of him taking things in his own hands

Instructions slyly written on the side of a ship

A conversation someone heard between me and a pilot a few weeks back. They couldn't send it on to me fast enough via WhatsApp.

Pilot: I'm right in the bell mouth dont pull me off yet.

You: I'm right aft with nothing on just the occasional snatch

As for the shave. Brilliant and more than enough to give me big grin status. I can't even think how many shaves this particular blade has seen but not showing any signs of throwing its hand in yet. SE's, the way to go.

Smoother than I care to think and smelling like the salty sailor I am

Ah well. Have some Japanese ladies and have wonderful days

Shaving recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/ Imperial Leather ~ Sea Minerals & Black Mint Shower Gel.

Pre:

Warm wet flannel to my face.

Simple ~ Sensitive Pure Soap Bar.

Brush: Chinese unbranded Horsehair.

Face Lather.

Soap: La Toja Shave Stick.

Blade: Gillette Winner.(3)

Razor: Pearl ~ SBF-11 TTO.

Post:

Cold Water Face Rinse./Homemade Lavender, eucalyptus + Tea Tree Oil Witch Hazel Mixture./La Toja ASL.

Aloe Vera Gel.

Greetings,

Another superb indian made razor & blade duo, mowing through my stubble with effortless ease.

The la toja shave stick provided a wonderful slick protective lather in a short space of time, with the chinese horsehair brush, which i forgot to add to the photo, anyway i had enough lather for the full shave without re-applying the stick to my face, leaving a great post shave feel.

Another pleasurable 3 pass + pick ups near BBS shave with no errors to report.

Finishing to the shave off with a generous dollop of Aloe Vera Gel.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling devine. ;)

Stay safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

Razor: Rocca 96 v4
Blade: Platinum Super
Brush: RazorRock Monster
Soap: Saponificio Bignoli Agrumi
ASL: Extro Cosmesi Bergomotto de Calabria

A new soap and brush day - from Connaught Shaving. The Bignoli soap was amazing, the Monster certainly is a monster! Citrus smells complimented by the Bergomotto edt.

Pre: Hot Shower
Brush: Simpson Chubby 2
Soap: Faena Dorica
Razor: Rocnel SE-P 316
Blade: Perma-sharp SE (3)
Post shave: Alum Block, cold water splash, Witch Hazel
Balm: Barts Balm Grapefruit & Pink Pepper Lotion / Gucci AS Balm
Aftershave: Copycat Oud Wood

A change today for a little variety,
A face lather with the Simpson synth and the bloomed Faena, the brush holds enough soap for 3 passes plus, to my snout the scent is delicate and is a woodsy scent, quite nice actually.
3 easy Passes for a BBS finish, the Blade has been banked and the razor cleaned and stored until next time.
The Barts Balm Grapefruit & Pink Pepper lotion is no more, i would buy it again - after i use up a lot more of my balm & lotion collection.
Stay safe and enjoy your day All
