Shaving recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/ Imperial Leather ~ Sea Minerals & Black Mint Shower Gel.

Pre:

warm wet flannel to my face.

Simple ~ Sensitive Pure Soap Bar.

Brush: Omega 10051.

Face Lather.

Soap: Vie-Long Shave Stick.

Blade: Gillette Winner.(4)

Razor: Merkur 39C.

Post:

Cold Water Face Rinse./Homemade Lavender, eucalyptus + Tea Tree Oil Witch Hazel Mixture./ Floid ~ Mentolado Vigoroso ASL.

Nivea Men ~ Sensitive cooling PSB.

Greetings,

The Vie-Long brush & soap stick performed with brilliance, building up a slick protective lather on my face in a short space of time leaving enough stored in the brush for all my shaving passes without having to re-apply the shave stick to my face to create more lather.

Over the last few months i haven't gave much attention to my boar brushes, due to reaching for my synthetic brushes..I forgot how much of a good brush the omega 10077 is for face lathering having soft tips, but with plenty of backbone.

A enjoyable 3 pass+ pick ups acceptable silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

Finishing to the shave off with a generous dollop of Nivea Men ~ Sensitive cooling PSB.

My face is feeling smooth & smelling devine. ;)

Stay safe, keep strong and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

Thursday

Wickham's 1912 Cashmere
RazoRock Plissoft 24mm synth
Face lather
Gillette Fat Handle Tech (flat bed, England, 1948)
Gillette Wilkinson Sword (3)
Thayer's Lavender and Aloe Vera
Wickham's 1912 Cashmere splash

A tentative shave today, taking care not to open up wounds from the misuse of the Feather Artist Club yesterday.

All good, though. I hadn't used the 1912 soap/splash combo for some time; and they work really well.

Thur 2nd April.

Cyril Salter / MS. ED2band
Lea Classic soap
Occams- Enoch
Feather Proguard [ 4 ]
Lea Classic A/S Lotion

I am finally getting to grips with the Shaving angle required with this Razor. This one needs to be inclined off the guard instead of using the cap. The Shave was very smooth and comfortable, but it took extra time to get a close all-round finish, as perhaps the Razor is a bit mild with the ProGuard on board. Will try it with different blades in future Shaves.

Morning All,
I believe i am a "glass is half full" type of fella as i don't think i have had a really bad shave since starting on my traditional journey.
I have had however, rough shaves, raw shaves, scary shaves and "non" shaves where the combination has just not worked.
Well, today i had an awesome shave and i really enjoyed it.
The soap was inspired by @Palmolive fox when i first started out just over a year ago, i cut 2 sticks of Palmolive into about inch stubs and set them in what was left in a tub of Maca Root shave cream. It is mainly Palmolive scented but boy does it work a treat and rivals any soap i have for lather, slickness and post shave feel, YMMV of course, today it was bowl lathered with the Yaqi Timberwolf synth. tremendous.
Yesterday i was worried about the Feather Hi Stainless blade going off, i need not have been concerned, on its 4th shave it is sort off letting me know it is cutting with a light soundtrack, its not tugging at all and is smooooth. The PILS razor is fantastic to use, i really like it and it is going to be hard to get my other DE's into rotation, i am sure i will manage though.
3 Passes WTG, XTG & ATG leaving me BBS and super comfortable, i think the blade indication helped the shave enjoyment along.
A very nice post shave leaving me a very happy shaver today.

Now then, the Elephant in the room.
I have a pristine chin and smell quite delightful but during the post shave routine in the mirror it is very noticeable that i am 2 weeks over due for a haircut, in fact my head resembles a Collie dogs backside. I have spoken with the misses about getting the clippers out and going old school, however, she did remind me that when i have a really tight haircut i have an uncanny resemblance to Walter Long the actor. Now you may ask yourself, what divvy compares himself to looking like an actor from the 1930's.

You get my drift, this was OK when i was competing with my fisticuffs or working the pubs and clubs in the town centre, but now?
I don't think so, although i may have to do it and frighten the Kids (& Teachers) at school.;)(y).
Enjoy your day All

I'm suffering similarly with my hair. I'm starting to look like Toad from Mario Bros.:

With the exception of the colour scheme of course!

SOTD 04/02/20

This morning I swapped out the hybrid Badger/Boar knot I had mounted on my Alpha Shaving Rubberset 400 Tribute brush for an incredibly soft black synthetic knot with great backbone. I'm a committed face latherer and really enjoyed whipping up a thick, protective MWF lather on both face and dome with the swapped out synthetic knot. The beauty of this brush is that it is effectively four brushes in one. I own four different ferrules, each of which accommodates a different knot - a 24mm Badger/Boar Hybrid, a 24mm synthetic, a 26mm Silvertip Badger, and a 26mm Boar - all of which screw onto the same handle.

After my cold water rinse, I worked on generating a thick lather. The Colonial General V2 has some real heft to it at almost 90 grams, and is very nicely balanced. When equipped with a Feather Super AC blade it is a highly efficient shaving tool. Given the beautifully engineered balance and weight of the razor, coupled with the wide sweet spot, maintaining negative pressure was quite easy. The razor is named and dedicated to Revolutionary War General Henry Knox, Chief artillery officer of the Continental Army, and later Secretary of War. And Henry's spirit blasted through that whisker stubble like he decimated the British at Yorktown.

A healthy spike of 6 drops of M-Bomb to my MWF soap provided a delightfully cooling highly mentholated lather. I could easily have stopped after the first ATG pass with a DFS+, but I really crave that velveteen smooth feel of a good BBS shave. My second ATG pass, or really half pass consisted of nothing more than some selective buffing, and brought the BBS baby home. I feel clean, very smoooth, and refreshed, ready for another boring day of sheltering in place. Stay healthy, my friends!

RAZOR: Colonial General V2 316L SS
BLADE: Feather Super AC
PREP: Cold water rinse
BRUSH: Alpha Shaving Rubberset T400 Tribute
SOAP: Mitchell's Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Thayers Lavender WH and finished with Lisa's Naturals Tobacco & Bay Post Shave Elixir

Well the sun is shining, I am a hermit superstar and nothing reminds me of better times like the smell of peaches! Southern Witchcrafts Peach is a very lovely peach scent and by no means sweet; that really nice earthy peach smell. They make several other mixed scent accords but this single peach goody is very nice indeed.

Today's razor the wonderful 1951 Black Tip SS. I really enjoyed the Tech with a Feather so why not the Black Tip with a Kai. I am not suggesting this razor is mild because this particular one isn't but I have heard some say it is. This is the aluminum handle version. Great razor period.

Lovely three pass shave. Smooth as silk! I love this Black Tip beasty and I will endeavour to get it into rotation more often. Next up will be the Blue Tip! Stay safe folks!
