Pre:

warm wet flannel to my face.

Pears ~ Transparent Glycerin Soap.

Brush: Omega 48 Pro.

Bowl Lather.

Soap : Proraso ~ Sensitive.

Blade: Zorrik SP.(3)

Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89. 'kelvin.'

Warm wet flannel/ cold wet flannel to rinse my face.

Post:

Cold Water Face Rinse./ Thayers ~ Rose Petal Witch Hazel./ Duru ~ Turkish Lemon Cologne.

Asda ~ Kind & Gentle Light Moisturiser.

Greetings,

It's been a long time since i used my EJ DE89 for a face shave, as in the past, along with a few other razors in my shaving den i've only used it for my monthly head shave, and absentmindedly been engrossed & preoccupied with just using my favourite razors for face shaving, adding to that the proraso sensitive soap is another product i've infrequently used, along with williams mug shaving soap & a few others that i've shamefully only used on odd occasions.

Another excellent Razor/Blade duo, which paired together wonderfully, resulting in a comfortable 3 pass + pick ups near bbs silky smooth shave with no errors to report...Another real 'face stroker' shave.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Asda ~ Kind & Gentle Light Moisturiser.

My face is feeling fresh super smooth, & smelling devine.;)

Tuesday 11th September

Heno de Pravia Glycerine Soap
Vitos Preshave Cream
Palmolive Sensitive Shaving Cream with Aloe Vera
Omega 10098 Boar Brush
Turkish Copper Bowl
Merkur 38C with a 7 O'Clock Permasharp Blade
Witch Hazel
Aloe Vera Gel
Brut Musk AS

A basic 'no frills' shave today. For some reason....as the dark and wet mornings draw in.....I feel more drawn towards my less expensive offerings. No reduction in shave quality though!
3 passes for a 'perfect shave':)

SOTD 12 September 2018.

Pre-shave: Warm shower, Wright's Cold Tar Soap and cold water splash.
Soap: Cella Crema da Barba AllOlio Di Mandorla.
Brush: Simpsons The Duke 2 Pure Badger.
Bowl: Aesop.
Razor: Karve - C: Plate.
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (Day 6).
Post: Floid V.

I was in two minds this morning whether to change the DE blade; I normally don't shave with a DE for more than 5 days.

No regrets, an incredibly smooth shave; only two passes needed with a BBS finish on the face with a DFS + BBS - on the neck.

The Karve also appears to be kinder on my skin; no post shave tightness. I am unsure when I will try the E plate as the C plate us working so well.

The Cella and the Floud V again were excellent.

All the best,

Chris

Since throwing myself at the world according to SE I have been absolutely delighted with the results and it has been one of those things which makes me glad not to be bearded. Together with the collection of food they amass.

After very kindly receiving some blade samples from patw (clueless how to do the @someone which is rather fashionable I note) this was to be my big night and a blade other than a Kai Captain. In this case a Schick Proline being the choice of frontline working edge.

A disaster......

I am not going to harp on and on about OSP and butterscotch coloured brushes as they are old hat now..........but they are effing good. No problems here and they did what they are supposed to do and they did it well.

First razor stroke and 'Wow!' This ain't what I was expecting, it was worse and I mean full on worse. As the shave progressesed (or didn't) I was getting less and less impressed with the Prolines and it was only determination which saw things through to the end. A few weepers, a nick or two and irritation I thought I'd kissed goodbye to when I left the 5 bladed monster behind.

Thank God for styptic pencils, cold water and Cade aftershave balm.

Not too enthralled with my first time out with a Schick Proline and a neck you could strike matches on it was time to wrap up shop and the post post shave ritual of cleaning everything up. Wash the bowl down, rinse the brush through and take the razor apart to give it a hot clean and rinse. Taking the razor apart.......

Chink

And out fell two blades stuck together! How the F I'd managed this I have no idea but it certainly answered a lot of questions

I will now have to wait a few days to step back in to facing the Proline again and hopefully greater pleasures lie ahead.

I do bless my new purchase of Bulgari Man in Black for being the only reason to bring a smile to my otherwise Freddy Krueger face.

Back to work on the River Solent this afternoon and at least I don't have to walk around in the general public. I am ashamed in all respects

Duh!

I've heard of twin blades Chris but doubling up the Prolines is taking it to the extreme
Here's hoping for a better outcome using a single blade next time.

To do the @someone , press @ first followed by the persons name.;)
