A superb shave!...It just goes to show that you don't need an expensive shaving kit to have a good shave if you gain your shaving confidence & apply good technique.

The humble Palmolive Classic shave stick is a great performing soap which will always be a firm favourite within my shaving den.

Finishing to the shave off with a generous dollop of Groomed ~ Post Shave Balm.

My face is feeling Cool, super smooth & smelling Divine. ;)

Stay safe and enjoy your Day ladies & gentlemen.

Aye aye ye landlubbers. This evening brought along the theme 'The further adventures of Captain Fawcett and the hunt for the lost rose treasures of the mysterious black box'.

View attachment 58295

Admiral of the shave - Master Enoch of Occam
Captain of the good ship lollipop - Captain Kai

Bosun brush - The Groom Room wee whiskey barrel
'I said 24 mm not 24 inches'

Black box of treasures - Captain Fawcett soap
Treasure of the siren rose - Czech and Speake 88

'Give us some of those big 'Aye Ayes' ye hopeless motley crew to get this shave rolling on the waves'
'Indeed hopeless'

After over a week of giving it some RazorRock Hawk, this evening I decided to reach for the Enoch being as everything else had been overlooked and looking dejected. It doesn't quite shout 'me me me' being a small characterless object compared to its bigger neighbours on the shelf flexing their oversized muscle and bulk, and to be honest it remains an arse to load which gives it a 'I can't be fucked' appeal. But this evening I could be 'fucked' and so risked fingers, limbs and whatever else you could cut off with a sharp blade.

End result razor with a blade. Few

The last few phew days have seen me trying face lathering for a change and to be honest I am rather enjoying it. Certainly quicker and one less object to clean at the end of a shave. 20 minutes to load a blade and 2 minutes to lather. Not bad

I couldn't recommend this Captain Fawcett's highly enough. If ever anyone is looking for something different, a great soap and a great scent, then it is well worth a punt. A quality product in a sexy wooden bowl. Okay, more a sultry lady in black leather with a big whip kind of bowl. Laverly. Even more latherly when the brush duties are given to the Groom Room's super little brush.

Everything being in great order so give it some splish, splash, whip me, whip me, whip me, slice me, slice me, slice me and, 'Kazam!' and as if by magic a most divine and wonderful shave. Smooth? Too bloody right. Heavenly? Aye Aye. A lady killer aroma? I haven't got there yet. Patience you lot.

To finish it all off a good spray of C&S 88. Now as you may have noticed the 88 is not in its usual bottle and looking more like a urine sample in a bejewelled glass bottle. Unfortunately while removing the cap on the usual bottle the whole of the neck sheered away. I was gutted. Perhaps more so as I absolutely love the scent and I lost quite a bit down the sink. C&S have been absolutely wonderful with their customer service and everything has been made good without me even asking. All I did was write to let them know what had happened and just to be aware as they may want to revisit their scent bottles.............and a whole new bottle is on its way to me! Super service and so impressed I went back and bought another one of their products for my wife's birthday just around the corner. 10/10 in every way for C&S.

A great shave all round and so bloody happy you can have some more of the mad Japanese tub thumper and her wonderful band

Be well everyone out there and yes I do still love you

I should hope so too with your username.

Cream - GFT Eucris
Brush - New Forest Badger
Razor - Merkur 34G
Blade - Wilkinson (1)
Post - Alum followed by some moisturiser

A nice comfortable two and a half pass shave. I'm trying to use this GFT cream up as I want to repurpose the bowl for another soap. Plus I'm not a fan of the scent. It just doesn't seem to want to go down.

That's precisely right!..My username is a hybrid of my surname & fondness of the humble palmolive classic shave stick.

Razor - Gillette New OC
Blade - Gillette Wilkinson Sword India (3)
Soap - Arko Puck
Brush - Yaqi Plissoft 24mm
Post - Witch Hazel/Alum
Splash - Barbon

Not a great shave today, picked up a ingrown on the first pass on my neck and applied a bit too much pressure under my lip on the 2nd to pick up a cut. I didn't get the best lather with Arko as well. It's a soap I have quite erratic lathers with, I think as the puck is actually very hard it's probably down to underloading, but I still continue to make the very mistake!
I think I should have paired a sharper blade with the New, but it really is a smooth razor head.
First time using the Barbon Splash, nice mild scent and feels good on the skin.

Stirling Syn. 26mm
P & B Citra Royale
Occams Hiram/ Plate 3
Feather Proguard [ 3 ]
Massimo Dutti A/S Lotion

This Hefty Occams is an effort in some ways to mirror design features of a Cobra Razor. However, it is adjustable if one fits plates of varying aggression, it comes fitted with a No2 plate as Standard but I got mine with a No3 plate.
So far I get good Shaves with it, much better than I did with a King Cobra. However there is a bit of harshness to the Shave, so I have just fitted a No2 plate borrowed from my Orens and see how that goes with initially the Proguard or Kai CTM pink. Quite impressed with the interchangeability of the Plates.

Thank you for this.
I love the TOBS creams...
I have to say the Tobacco Leaf at the moment is my absolute favourite and it's seeing constant usage.
Sorry to admit this ...I have never tried a tobacco-related shaving soap or cream! It's not anything to do with the association with smoking (I enjoy the occasional Cuban Montescristo Purito) but for some reason it's never appealed to me...I'll have to put that right.

Soap PAA Cavendish
Brush Yaqi 26mm Orange Black Synthetic
Razor Yaqi DOC Mellon (SLOC)
Blade Shark Super Stainless 2nd
Post & Aftershave
Ice Water + Special Thayers Mix
Hyaluronic + PAA Cavendish Splash
Epic lather from my number 1 soap. I use it sparingly. Scent is my favourite among all. Aromatic sweet pipe. Lather thick creamy and slick. More than enough for 4pass so save it for next day. The brush was perfect and handle comfortable.
Shave with razor paired with blade today was a good match. Smooth, sharp enough and very comfortable. Efficient too. Nice audible feedback. 3+1 multiple passes and discover 2 creepers much later. BBS to DFS result. Icy water rinse followed by cooling Thayers then soothed by Hyaluronic and the best among all my aftershaves...PAA Cavendish!!!! Wife complained someone smoking a pipe in the room!!! Hahahaha.

Haven't reached for an OC in a bit and seeing a friend on a forum enjoying his new “New” LC made we want to reach for mine. However, today's razor of choice is my Rhodium plated SC loaded with a Voskhod blade. There is much debate on whether the SC, LC or Deluxe versions are better but I have a few of each with different handles and they all shave wonderfully well. Quite the lookers too.

Lots of folks reaching for Nivea stuff lately and so I reached for some of mine today too. The cream is great and I love the clean scent of it. Affordable and great for travel. I grabbed the matching splash today over the balm. Again, nothing fancy just nice.

Three pass BBS shave. No hassles and no irritation. Topped off with some CK Eternity Aqua which really brought it all together. Grab some coffee, sun and get to the workday. Safe travels and enjoy your shaves.
