Lather - Yaqi Sagrada Familia + Catie's Bubbles Midnight Dreary
Razor- Gillette Super Speed Flare Tip
Blade- Gillette Super Platinum 7'O Clock Black #3
Post - Mennen Skin Bracer and L'Oréal Hydra Sensitive Birch Sap

Another sharp, rough and unenviable shave. Actually had some hope for this blade and razor combo as the Super Speed pairs well with sharp blades but it didn't work here. The shave itself was going well until the end of the second pass, seemed very smooth. But then I could feel the rawness and irritation come through. 3 passes completed, alot of Alum feedback and a change of post shave in the hope of a change of luck for this blade. I'm glad I only have to endure one more shave with this blade. Again, the highlight here was the lather.
Looking forward to the next blade.
Stay safe people and enjoy your shaves

Err! Kinell,
I loaded up the new Yaqi SE with a Permasharp Half Blade, i had a lovely slick, thick lather on the chin so set about the shave, it has been said that this razor is on the aggressive side so i was mindful and started off riding the cap slightly lowering the handle until cutting, There is plenty of blade feel from the off, although, its not unmanageable, I tried different angles all the way down to the safety bar, no change in the blade feel, a very smooth, comfortable, no issue WTG pass.
A quick rinse off - KINELL - DFS+ result on its first outing on its 1st pass, impressive.
Not wanting to push it i used the Slim to do an ATG buffing pass on the areas that needed it - BBS in no time.
Rinse off, a splash of my Bay Rum AS which gave a bit indication under the jaw line.
It took longer to clean the brush and razor than it did to shave.
A nice post shave routine, again with some slight indication from the aftershave, but hey, i am really happy with this razor, its a keeper.
Stay safe and enjoy your evening All.

All my Shaves with The Hiram have been with a No3 plate, they have been very good but I have found it a bit harsh in some areas.Today,I used it with a No2 plate, the Shave was more comfortable but the closeness of finish was a bit off in some places. I think a change of blade may improve the situation.

Good evening everyone, I hope you’re all well.

Pre- Cold water splash,
Soap- TOBS Fag Leaf Cream
Brush- Omega Boar
Razor- EJ89
Blade- Astra SP #1
Post- Cold Water Spash, Osma Alum Block
Balm- P&B Spitfire
Splash- P&B Spitfire

Not the best shave tonight, quite a lot of feedback from the block and when the splash was applied and a lovely blotchy neck. I’ll put it down to the blade being new. I’m sure this blade takes a few shaves to bed in.
Having said that , 10 minutes or so after the shave it doesn’t feel too bad now but I can’t be arsed to get off my backside and check in the mirror for redness.

Ill wish you all a great weekend, stay safe.

Thanks for the review Tony, good to see a user report for the Yaqi SE.

Razor- Merkur 34c
Blade- Bic Chrome
Soap- TOBS Sandalwood hard soap
Brush- Chubby2
Post- Cold water rince and Alum block followed by a splash of Razorock Carribean Holiday.

Two passes with the grain and a further pass across the grain on my cheeks and chin area. I didnt have the courage to go across the grain on the neck area and I'm glad I didn't.

Those Bic Chrome blades are ridiculously sharp. Ironic me saying a razor blade is sharp but I found these things to be lethal. One slight slip even with a mild razor like the 34c and I had a weeper to contend with. Pleasant enough shave regardless.

Have a great weekend one and all.
