Greetings,

Another early morning shave.

I've created a new uber/superlather mix, using blue's goat milk soap & erasmic lather shave cream which gave me a super slick protective lather for my shave, as always though when first experimenting i added far too much ingredients to the mix and ended up with enough lather for 8-10 passes..less quantity next time.

Blue's Goat milk soap is made in china which some people maybe be put off from buying because it doesn't show the ingredients on the tin,and purely because it's made by our chinese cousins.'fear & ignorance'.

To my knowledge it's a tallow based shaving soap with a few goat's eye balls toe nails & dead flies thrown in the mix for good measure! ..No seriously, if you shave with it your face doesn't flare up looking like a baboons arse, glow in the dark, and suddenly won't have a extra eye growing in the middle of your forehead. It's no worse than any other soap or cream we use and as for it's scent to my nose ,it's a ' mild clean mint/milky' scent' which won't get top marks in the scent table for those people who like a strong fragranced soap but, it gives excellent protection, cushion great slickness, and superb post shave feel, which is the most important factor in a shaving soap or cream 'IMHO.'Since my first purchase it's price, has doubled with some sellers. For it's price bracket it's up there with the artisan labeled soaps i've sampled,at a fraction of the price, mixed with the erasmic lather shave cream it created another excellent superlather..A superb combo.

The Parker 24C/ Voskhod was another excellent duo mowing through my stubble with smooth efficiency...As with all my Parker razors i find if you adjust to steeper shaving angle the performance & shaving results are superb.

A wonderfully smooth 3 pass + pick ups near bbs shave with no errors to report.

Finishing to the shave off with a generous dollop of BullDog ~Original Aftershave Balm.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling devine.
;)
;)

Enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

Last night's shave…

@Acer89 has very kindly loaned me the Paradigm SE and the Blackland Vector. I used Paradigm Sunday morning and felt like I needed a shave last night…

OK my thoughts on the Vector. Looks wise it's never really ‘'rocked my world''. I wasn't a fan of fitting the blade, a bit fiddly TBH. I also don't like the rectangle shaped thread for fitting the handle (didn't like it on the Sabre either). I get it's a clever idea but it runs the risk of cross threading. I'm sure you get used to these things but either way I'm not a fan.

OK onto the shave. I used the same Proline blade as the Paradigm. In the hand it felt comfortable and agile. The shave isn't as smooth as the Paradigm but you couldn't say it was rough or uncomfortable either. It felt more assertive and edges it on the efficiency over the Paradigm.

I've read reports both razors are very similar. The finished results may be similar but the journey is noticeably different. The Paradigm is milder and more comfortable and takes a little more time to get the job done. The Vector has a more direct approach and gives you more feedback. I don't want to give you the car analogy cliché but I think you know where I'm going with this.

So far I prefer the Paradigm but it's early days. Many thanks to James for the loan of the razors.

Today I decided on my other TTO, The Parker 22R, its a very good looking razor in Gunmetal and ready to go loaded with an Astra SP.
A fine face lather from the P&B soap and the Omega, holding enough soap for the required 3 passes with a dip between each pass.
The Razor is very mild and i did need 3 full passes, the blade seems to make a "tinny" noise when going through the thicker stubble, however, it does get there leaving the face very comfortable, no indication at all from the block.
A good overall result from another cheap razor, again a good starting point but not sure how it would perform on a heavy beard.
Have a great day All.
