Tue 10th July

RazoRock Plissoft 22mm
Speick Active soap
ES Claymore V1- Windrose Handle
Schick Proline [ 4 ]
Pitralon Original A/S Lotion

With a good Lather the Razor when applied to a surface seems to stick to the skin, let the weight work and whiskers are eradicated with ease.Since changing the original handle and using Prolines all my Shaves have been very easy
and close. I feel quite lucky to have got hold of this British made Razor which sadly has been replaced by a lighter more expensive version.

Greetings,

Last saturday morning out of the blue i recieved a message from @patw with a extremely kind offer of the Ever-Ready 1912 Vintage Single Edge Safety Razor (USA),along with some personna ptfe se blades & a assortment of soap samples. Thanks,Pat your kindness & the generosity is much appreciated...You've gave me a wonderful opportunity to venture and experience the wonderful world of vintage SE Razors.

Back to the shave....My first impression of the razor was the design seemed a little odd, with the back of the razor head jets out a bit. Overall I was very excited to try this thing out. After i gave it a quick clean,in boiling water for a few minutes,a quick rub down with a cloth i then hand stropped the blade, loaded it into the razor which couldn't be simpler.

The wickham 1912~classic sample soap, one of the wonderful samples provided me with superb slick protective lather, with a really nice fragrance... i placed the head of the razor almost touching my face, adding no pressure at all to the razor "The Golden Rule" just using the weight of the razor started to shave, after the first few strokes,it was "WOW FULL ON! AUDIO FEEDBACK"..Pat did tell me it was loud, like scrapping a knife over hot buttered toast..amazing.I instantly felt comfortable with the razor after a few strokes, the audio sound makes it sound very aggressive, which could possibly put some people off, but for me it showed me i'd found my angle, which was excellent considering it was my first SE razor maiden shave, all my practicing my technique shave has rewarded me. One thing i will say is,this razor brings out your shaving confidence, the razor it's self is aggressive, and you have to treat it with respect, equal to shaving with confidence, with no holding back,by doing this the razor glided over my face wonderfully, mowing down my stubble with no mercy at all.The other thing i noticed you don't have to rinse the razor after a few strokes, like a DE razor "the lather catcher" gathers up the lather and stops the razor from clogging up...so you can almost do a full pass without rinsing it clean.Old designs are the best, and where made to last..

After the third pass my face was "BBS". With all honesty this was the most comfortable closest error-free non- irritation shave i've had to date since i started traditional wet shaving, I'm not exaggerating.."You really feel like you've been shaved with a SE razor"..

What more can I say? i'm instantly swooned by this remarkable razor. The shave was fantastic, as is the feel of the razor. I feel as though i'm really using a tool when i'm shaving with it.I now understand why traditional wet shavers have such respect for vintage SE razors.I'm well impressed with this vintage lady..A fantastic razor which is another wonderful addition to my razor collection, and a razor which will be added to my razor rotation more frequently.

A sublime 3 pass BBS shave with errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of Brut ~ Sport Style A/S.

My face is feeling b.b.Smooth, & smelling devine.

Saponificio Varesino Tundra Artica Aftershave

Decided to have a treat and use my Saponificio Varesino today. I don't use this as often as I should, it is a superb performer and smells fantastic. No issues at all with the shave.

Great write up @Palmolive fox

I completely concur with you. The 1912 is a stunning razor. The last time I used it I had one of the best shaves I've ever had. Seen as they can be picked up for under a tenner, they are an absolute steal.
I'd recommend them to anyone.
