Shaving recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/ L'OREAL ~ Birch Sap Shower Gel.

Pre:

Cold wet flannel to my face.

Pears ~ Lemon Flower Extracts Transparent Soap.

Brush: Fine ~ 24mm Synthetic.

Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.

Bowl Lather.

Soap: Kent.

Blade: Personna ~ Gem PTFE coated 'Modified'.(2)

Razor: Valet ~ Auto strop VC1.

Post:

Cold Water Face Rinse./Homemade menthol crystals +Eucalyptus peppermint,+ Tea Tree Oil Witch Hazel Mixture./ Denim Original ASL.

Creightons ~ Sensitive Post Shave Balm.

Greetings,

New shave set up to start the weekend..Second outing of the recently aquired valet auto Strop vc1, which is pleasure to shave with, it's unbelievable how at ease and how quickly i've taken to this wonderful vintage SE lady, paired together with the modified gem ptfe blade was a smooth efficient duo mowing through my stubble with ease.

However, the Auto Strop VC1 isn't a razor i would recommend to anyone to use who has just started out in traditional wet shaving i would recommend a less non aggressive DE razor the 'Muhle R89' or the 'Merkur 34C' would be my recommended choice to learn your technique, gain essential shaving confidence before shaving with one of these vintage ladies as the shaving angle is different to a modern DE razor which takes a few shaves to adjust to also the gap exposure of the blade's edge looks and can be very intimidating to the eye which could also lead to a blood bath of nicks & irritation to a new inexperienced traditional wet shaver,..Don't be put off by this, once you've adjusted to one of these vintage SE ladies, it's a wonderful pleasurable shaving experience. As always this is just my personal opinion.YMMV.

A comfortable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth near bbs shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Creightons ~ Sensitive Post Shave Balm.

My face is feeling super smooth and smelling devine.;)
;)

Enjoy the start of the weekend, ladies & gentlemen.

A similar shaving recipe to yesterday except I used the ATT Calypso SE1 instead of the Razorock Black Hawk. The SE1 seems to have a little more blade feel than the Hawk, the Hawk feels “safer”, and that makes me a little more cautious with the SE1. The end result, however, was similarly excellent with both.

4 days growth removed without so much as a whisper from the R41 and Shark blade.

Going out today with SWMBO so I need to be presentable.

This is one of the best shaves in a while. I also tried an alum block for the 1st time and it seems to have went well. The slightest of slight nip around my jawline but nothing uncomfortable.

An amazing finish with me smooth as glass.

Have a great weekend folks. [emoji1303]

Wonderful Saturday Shave

I tried the Mongoose again but on a heavier handle and what a difference the Balance was much better and resulted in a very close and comfortable shave, ran the Alum block over as I like to do with new razors and not a thing.

I see why that have a long heavier handle on them, will see what I can find for sale that suits it. Still found the head quite big but with the better balance was not an issue.

My lovely new lather Bowl from little Wren was a joy to use as well.
