SOTD : Saturday 5th October - Friday 11th October 2019.

Prep: Face wash Pears
Soap: Signature Soaps Britannia
Brush: Yaqi 30mm
Bowl: Timeless
Razor: Pearl SS01 open comb
Blade: Personna Red (3)
Post: Hot and cold rinse alum
AS: Brut
PSB: L'Oreal Men Expert All In One
Another kingtasic shave using Signature Soaps and this particular soaps smell reminds me of either cough candy or army and navy sweets

My theme for this particular shave was 'I married Frank'

IMG_20191009_200055.jpg

Frank the razor - Stainless Colonial General
Frank the blade - Schlick Proline
Frank the brush - Razorock 400
Frank the shaving cream - OSP Shogun
Frank the splash - ESC Duine Fon Choill

Ever since my wife discovered the shaving pleasure of soaps and creams my remaining stock of OSP sprouted legs and walked their way to her own private stash. It also appears my little Muhle synthetic managed the same miraculous journey together with a shaving bowl. Mmmmmm? Misleadingly I always assumed it was for legs, arms and vagoos as someone quaintly named it in another thread. How wrong I was....

After 35 years I found I'd married Frank

A visit to said cupboard to steal (on a short loan steal basis) the small remaining stock of OSP Shogun. One day all will be gone and I can curse @OSP once again. I just prey we don't wake up one morning to find out the chap at Signature soaps has woken up the same day and declared motorbikes are more important (which of course they are). I will sadly miss OSP when the world's stocks have depleted to the level where E-Bay is the only source, but hey, enjoy it while it lasts. What a bloody super cream this is and the heavy scent of lemongrass out of this world. With the 400 at the driving end short work is made of arriving at a bowl of lovely rich lather.

Something to scythe its way though it all. Hands up the stainless General with a new Proline providing the cutting edge with less than cutting edge technology, just bloody great design, bloody great engineering and one of the finest shave pairings on the planet. Super duper.

Three full passes to a heavenly shave and a face smoother than Frank's. Throw on some ESC Duine Fon Choill and one of those great shaves in life which makes one wonder 'how does it get any better?'. Ask Frank I guess.

Here's wishing you all sensational shaves and I leave you with some more Japanese metal which includes who I think must be Frank.

Don't fret I was equally as bewildered when I came across these

Loved the Gillette Red Tip on Monday and decided I would carry on with the Super Speed Trio! So today I reached for the 1956 Flare Tip Super Speed. Loaded up with a Voskhod and to work I went.

RazoRock Gold was the soap of the day with the matching AS. Lovely spice, citrus and amber all mixed in there. Love RazoRock soaps and AS because I haven't had a bad one yet and the performance per dollar is excellent.

Lovely two pass shave and good to go for work. Nice and smooth the Flare Tip.

Hump Day...soon the weekend will be upon us. Take care and safe travels.

Shaving recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/ Original Source ~ Tingly Mint & Tea Tree Shower Gel.

Pre:

warm wet flannel to my face.

Pears ~ Transparent Soap.

Brush: Turkish Unbranded Boar.

Face Lather.

Soap: Arko Shave Stick.

Blade: Personna ~ Gem PTFE.(4)

Razor: Ever Ready 1914. (US)

Post:

Cold Water Face Rinse./Homemade menthol crystals +Eucalyptus peppermint,+ Tea Tree Oil Witch Hazel Mixture./ Arko ~ Comfort Cologne+ Aftershave Balm.

Greetings,

Carrying on with the Ever Ready 1914 (US) which along with the E.R.1924, i find the most efficient out of all my vintage ER SE razors, mowing through my stubble with ease, making my morning shave a pleasuarable experience.

Second outing of the unbranded turkish boar brush, after a 5 minute soak in warm water it built up a wonderful lather on my face, adding water to the tips of the brush until i got the consistancy of which i like. The arko shave stick, never fails to give a superb lather, with a equal post shave feel.

A wonderfully smooth 3 pass + pick ups near bbs shave with no errors to report.

Another very comfortable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.A very enjoyable shave.

Finishing to the shave off with a generous dollop of Nivea Men ~ Sensitive Cooling Post Shave Balm.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling devine. ;)

Enjoy your day, ladies & gentlemen.

10 October

TFS Crazy Sandalwood
Simpson M7 Manchurian
Razorock Game Changer .84-P
Feather Hi-stainless
Clinique post-shave soother
YSL Y edp (sample)

A very pleasant shave this morning. Two passes with the Razorock gave a more than acceptable result, but left me with the impression that the Feather blade was not the best match for this razor.

Thur 10th Oct.

The Grosvenor [ 404-mixed ]
Haslinger Honig
Personna Super Stainless Injector.
Personna S/S Blade [ 1 ]
Pitralon Classic A/S Lotion

Rather belatedly I have come to like the Personna Injector, since I discovered that it works better with a Personnna blade than with a Schick. Today the Shave was very smooth with a decent close all round finish, which was particularly good around the upper lip and chin. Have not used the Haslinger for a while and found the 404 good at coaxing a lather from the rather small container, without making a mess.

Pre-shave:- None

Bowl/Scuttle:- None
Brush:- None
Soap/Cream:- Bulldog gel mixed with aerosol shave gel
Razor/Blade:- Wilkinson classic and Topaz (3)
Post/After-shave: Cocoa Butter
Fragrance:- None

Third shave with the Topaz. I had seen poor reviews of this blade but it works great for me.

I didnt rate the Bulldog gel at all, worse than aerosol shave gel. I half filled a jam jar sized pot with Bulldog and topped it up with some aerosol gel, mixed it up and it becomes useable, got rid of two middling products in one go.

Thursday 10th October

Vitos Pre Shave
TFS Ciotola Gialla Shaving Soap
Omega 20102 Boar Brush
PAA Bakelite with a 7 O'Clock Super Platinum (#3)
Witch Hazel
MWF Moisturiser
Florida Water

This little razor is very effective. If you can resist the temptation to apply pressure......you will be rewarded with a shave which will be hard to beat.
3 passes for a perfect finish :)
