SOTD: Saturday 4th January - Friday 10th January 2020.

Thur 9th Jan
Jayaruh Syn. No67
TBG soap unscented
Occams Enoch
Schick Proline ( 1 )
TBG 6th sense A/S lotion

Used the first of my recent Razor purchases, The Occams Enoch. Was a bit fiddly to load as the blade retaining lugs rather shallow. However,I found it to be quite nicely weighted and manouvreable and for a first Shave the finish quality is very good. As I am still doing seated Shaves so in my hurry to finish the Shave got a couple of weepers on the chin.

Thursday 9th January

Soap - Tabac Stick
Brush - YaqI 24mm Tuxedo Marble Handle
Razor - Rockwell 6C R3
Blade - Gillette Platinum (3) ((and out))
Post - Tabac Aftershave

A relaxing Tobacco shave this evening, following seven days on call - being called out almost every night this week, not to mention how busy it kept me last weekend
I like using shave sticks for ease of use, and the YaqI Tuxedo is my favourite brush for face latherIng - it's luxuriously soft tips make it a joy to use .
I usually get three comfortable shaves from Gillette Platinum blades, but this one felt a bit rough during the second pass.
In future I will limit these blades to two uses - they're cheap enough, and two comfortable shaves still makes them good value.
Finishing with Tabac Aftershave - my first time using this, and I'm quite impressed with it - it's hydrating, and has a nice sweet tobacco scent. I'm very pleased with it and I'll be using it regularly for sure.

Another wonderful shave today, 3 passes for a BBS finish.
The little 3D printed bowl made by @Northam Saint and the JR#355 worked very well with the 1912 soap, giving me plenty of lovely Lather for the job ahead, the photo shows what was left after i shaved from a normal brush loading, this little bowl paired with the Jayaruh brush, which is also a lather monster really explodes the soap.
A great Post shave routine, a 1st for me is the Mäurer & Wirtz 4711 EDC, it is right up my street and smells wonderful, not too heavy and a great citrus scent, a very good pairing with the soap, i could not help but finish with a rub of the Barts Balm Lime aftershave Balm.

The only downer is my 1912 face soaps are getting smaller, i got them as freebies when i was buying the soaps and they are very nice, although to buy them i think the are a little expensive and the Pears Transparent Original soap works just as well.

I really enjoyed that, BBS, supple skin feel and smelling fantastic.
Have a great day All.

perfect shave this morning

feather asd2
polsilver #3
eucris hard soap
semogue 1800
homemade eucris a/s
aloe vera gel

I find the secret to getting a decent lather out of the eucris soap is to use it like a stick - smear loads of it on the bristles and build up with the brush on the face. worth the effort as the scent is divine and performance is good.

Martin de Candre Original (sample)
RazoRock Disrupter 22mm synth
Face lather
Gillette Fat Handle Tech (RFB, England, 1948)
Personna Med Prep (2)
Thayer's Lavender and Aloe Vera
Speick after shave

I probably didn't really need a shave after yesterday; but I wanted to see if MdC lives up to its almost mythical status in Shaveland.

So...

Jury's out at the minute. Once I've had a few goes with the Shavedash sample, I'll be better informed. That said, the scent is really good; redolent (for me) of classic ‘barbershop'. It lathers beautifully, even with cold water and its performance is very good (glide, cushion etc.).

I'm not sure just yet if it measures up to my particular non-tallow holy grail, Santa Maria Novella; but time will tell.
