PreShave: Warm water, from the tap
Cream: OSP Vintage
Brush: Kent BK8
Bowl: My recycled cream bowl
Razor: The Sledgehammer (Merkur 39C)
Blade Nacet (2)
Post Shave: Alum

Fragrance: Floris 71/72

A nice Sunday shave, the OSP does not have a strong scent, but that is well made up by the smooth lubrication it provides. Nevertheless, a good shave all around.

Enjoy the Bank Holiday Weekend.

I know exactly what you mean! I think 5he lack of variety would be boring though.

The last two PPI models in my collection I've to try are the Sputnik and Rubie. I'm already convinced I'll like the Sputnik as it's teflon coated and I've only heard good things about the Rubies.

I think a PPI appreciation thread is in order soon!

Pretty much all blades are Teflon coated btw.

The Sputnik IMO is a lot like the Astra Platinum, in it's not the sharpest PPI blade but sharp enough and reasonably smooth. I've used a Rubie and I can't remember exactly but I think it might have been the same blade as the normal Gillette Platinum, but if you have the blades in stock you could compare both at the time of the shave. Report back if you can!

Will do. I'll try the Rubie straight after the current Platinum.

I never knew they were all teflon coated. I've been seduced by the marketing!! I just assumed it was a particular coating that worked for me as it's mentioned as the 'primary'(?) coating for Voskhods and GSBs, both of which I like.

Wanted for crimes against beards

Billy the razor kid - SS Colonial General
Captain no-beard - Kai Captain
Doc Brushaway - Razorock 24mm Plissoft
The slippery bandit - Extro Arancia

Today's bathroom challenge was the removal of 3 days growth due to no real 'Me time' being available. Work has been rather relentless and being able to find space for 'head down' became tasking on its own. So tonight finally found that precious bit of time to say 'Right you hairy bastard let's get this on'. It also saw a second outing for the Extro Arancia because I was so impressed by its performance the first time and I fancied smelling like an orange.

Bring on 'The Wet Bandits'. Of course A name stolen from that all time classic film Home Alone and who later became known as 'The Sticky Bandits'. Trying to use the word sticky in relation to a shave really didn't work outside of 'and I needed to use a sticky plaster'

The Extro once again performed impeccably and proved itself a very worthwhile purchase. The General did a sterling job but 3 days growth was pushing the blade a bit and by the end of the second pass really wasn't giving its best. As a result I binned the blade and reached for my ever faithful Ikon SB. I am convinced this could be used for clearing a forest albeit taking a long time to do so. It made short work of what remained and did so with real conviction. As far as I am concerned it is a true king in my shaving armoury.

So here I am starting a new week feeling 100% better for finally managing to have a shave and a most wonderful one at that.

This was a shave made in heaven and I am now as smooth as a cherub's bottom.

Have a great bank holiday Monday one and all and last day at work here so even better.

Though I enjoy Shaving with the HFT, I can never get the closest of Shaves with it, Somehow it just does not cope with my beard. What a day, spent 2 hours dieting traffic in Leisure centre Car Park trying to keep access to our Track open. The Powers that be booked 4 events with inadequate parking, and people prepared to block access / egress. Then a further 6 hours of officiating, got home tired.
