SOTD: Saturday 4th - Friday 10th. May 2019.

Soap - Arko
Brush - Omega 80265
Razor - Ball End Tech
Blade - Gillette Platinum (3)
Post - Witch Hazel
Balm - RSC
AS - Eyup Sabri Tobacco

I'd been struggling to get a decent lather with my 80265 after I'd cleaned it with vinegar, and I was really afraid I'd messed it up, but thanks to @Tony'schin for a few pointers to get my brush back to normal! A small sigh of relief when after a few failed attempts of creating a decent lather with the brush I managed to create a decent one once again with Arko.

I'm liking the Gillette Platinum more and more. It's not the sharpest blade, but it still manages to come up with good results nonetheless. A really forgiving blade it seems as well.

Have a good weekend chaps!

2-pass + pickups

Soap is panna crema. i can create a thick lather but not as slick as i prefer.

Have great shaves.[emoji106]

Nostalgia? Dead sea Scrolls tonight.

Pre: Nuage menthol oil/ Pears original
Brush: 1950's Vintage Vulfix Service #3
Soap: Palmolive/Maca root SL
Blade: 1929 NOS Myatt Daymark
Razor #1: Myatt Daymark Universal
Razor #2: Myatt Daymark "The Myatt"
Post shave: Alum Block, cold water splash, homemade Witch Hazel with Lemon & Lime, Cedarwood, Arabian Musk oil
Balm: Proraso Post shave cream
Aftershave : Old Spice.

OK, a while back my interest was piqued in Myatt razors after I bought one on flea bay then realised they do not take new style blades, before I took the Dremel to the caps I decided, if possible, to hunt down some blades. Bingo, a Full pack on sale in Australia. Cash sent and the wait started. More investigation by me and another Myatt bought.
I believe "the Myatt" OC could be a presentation piece as I cannot find anything at all about it. The 2nd razor bought is definitely a "Universal".
I decided to use both tonight.
1st pass with the OC then a pass with the trough shelf.
A good prep using tried methods.
The blades both struggled a bit dragging the more thicker hairs around chin and top lip, the 1st pass removed a good bit, however it was not a smooth start. Unperturbed I plough on , literally, 2nd pass very much the same ATG, not actually hurting, but struggling, rinsed off and I am getting there. Decided on a 3rd pass/buff. The blade still cutting, the sound and feel telling me so.
I decided to stop there. I was dreading the block, surprisingly not a lot of sting, a splash of homemade witch hazel and cleaned everything down.
Lots of Proraso Red post cream, actually I doubled up and a splash of old spice.
So, Not dolphin smooth, but acceptable to the eye, more like shark skin around chin and top lip to the touch.
My face is settling down and I feel as though I have achieved something, what? You may ask, I have not one clue would be the answer.
I am probably the only man on this planet that tonight has shaved with 2 vintage Myatt razors using Original blades.
Will I be going again?
HELL YEAH!!!
I may find a blade that's sharper, this could be a standard 1930's BBS finish, the men in those days were tougher than us.
I will edit update in morning about face feel etc if needed.
A bottle of Hop House Lager and ----- relax
Have a great night All.
Update Sunday Morning.
Face OK but I need a shave:eek:
