SOTD : Saturday 3rd October to Friday 9th October 2020.

7/10/20

Soap - Tabac Stick
Brush - Zenith B07 (bleached boar, 24 mm/ 60 mm)
Razor - 1972 Sportsman Tech
Blade - Supermax Blue Diamond Platinum (7)
Post - Witch Hazel/Nivea Balm
Splash - Indian Old Spice

I'm giving my Zenith a continued run out, it's a brush I find difficult to build a lather with, it can often be too floppy for a start and seems to eat lather. For today's shave I was a little more careful to avoid over soaking and soaked the brush in warm water for around 4-5 minutes and it definitely seemed to make a difference, it was less floppy and didn't lose any bristles in the shave so that a step in the right direction, for tomorrow's shave I will soak it for a minute or so less. I took my time to build the lather for the first pass, pretty much only adding a few drops of water at a time whilst I was face lathering and I had a very nice lather for the first pass but as ever I had a very small amount of lather for the 2nd pass/ cleanup pass, and for the latter there seemed to be a quite a lot of water in the middle of the brush, maybe a sign after soaking I need to squeeze out more water before I start building the lather? I will try to incorporate these observations for tomorrow's shave.
A good shave with the Tech and SMX BDP, and even on its 7th shave it was still smooth and efficient, I'm really impressed with this blade. Finished the shave with some Indian Old Spice, a splash I quite like for occasional use but it a little too sweet for daily usage.

2 passes and a touch up on the whirlpools to give me a BBS finish.
Only its 3rd shave since leaving the Factory, this 1912 is a joy to use.
Sitting in a nice menthol glow, the Proraso is about as much menthol i like.
Stay safe and enjoy your day all.

This particular shave was themed 'At last there may be some rosier moments'

Probably nothing except believe me a damn fine shave really lifted my somewhat dampened spirits after all

I really felt as if I needed some of my favourite accruements which I know work and give me that feeling of elation. Everything was just perfect for one perfect shave which did exactly what I needed it to do. After all the effort for others a little bit of 'me time' went a long way to make me feel as if everything had been worth the pain and time.

Looking in the mirror all I could think was 'You ugly fucker, but a well shaved one at that and feeling a lot more me'
Best wishes and a job well done...!! Nothing like a good shave my fellow member...a good shave will elevate you above the gloomy skies...

... the Proraso is about as much menthol i like.
OK, I've highlighted some key points in this shave and, as a known Proraso Green enthusiast, I would just like to point out that even people who don't like menthol do like 'Proraso Green Menthol' because it simply exists in its own bubble of shaving glory. If it were a food it would constitute its own separate food-group. People describe things on this planet as 'Animal, Vegetable or Mineral', but in fact they often miss the truth that it's actually 'Animal, Vegetable, Mineral, Proraso Green'.
This is proven by the fact that everyone who has ever used Proraso Green always finds that it is precisely just the amount of menthol they like...even if they hate menthol! That's how cool it is!
(If anyone disagrees with this, all I can say is: what colour is the sky where you come from?):alien:
