SOTD : Saturday 31st March - Friday 6th April 2018.

Tuesday 3rd April

Vitos Pre shave cream
Monsavon Soap
Omega 10065 Boar Brush
Baili Tech with a Gillette Super Thin Blade
Alum Block and Rinse
Lacura Moisturiser
Old Spice AS

I think I will be using my DE razors for a little while with 1 or 2 shaves per blade....in the faint hope that I will reduce the number of blades I own.
3 passes for a lovely smooth shave:)

The Easter Break was very relaxing....but unfortunately it's back to work today:(. On the bright side......I have just entered a new leave year!

Prep ~ Shower, Puig Lavanda bath soap
Razor ~ Valet OC
Blade ~ Valet re stropped
Soap ~ 3P cream (Sample from @Rohleder) with thanks.
Brush ~ Omega Badger
Post ~ Thayers / Bart's Lavender AS Lotion
Scent ~ Caldey ~ Island Lavender edt

After some work on the Valet blade it managed to produce the goods, the BBS finnish that eluded me yesterday, I knew that blade had a BBS Finnish in it somewhere!
The cream (3P) gifted to me by @Rohleder was indeed very good, great protection and initial slickness and performed very well, I felt it lacked some of the residual slickness that I prefer but none the less a very good cream / croap.
A splash of Thayers and once dry an application of Bart's Lavender AS Lotion, this was followed by the very nice Monks magic from Caldey Island, their Island Lavender edt, Lavender and musk which is a great combination . So, looking good and smelling great! :)

Have a nice day folks. P.

Although not my favourite member of the Gem family, the G-Bar gives me a better shave than most of my DEs.
Talking of favourites this is my favourite Sandalwood soap and splash combo.
Great little budget brush which just gets better and better.
Happy Shaving one and all.

Good to see you enjoyed the sample P. There's no tallow or glycerin in this one so that would explain the lack of residual slickness you identified ;) I cant say I noticed myself, I must be very unfussy... Hopefully it won't become apparent now you've mentioned it! :p

Razor: 1912
Brush: Omega Boar (10051 aka Chunky Chubb)
Soap: Palmolive (grated)
Aftershave: Pitralon (German)

...my 5th shave on the Persona SS blade (unshimmed). Still getting smooth, comfortable, close shaves. Once the blade is done I will try the 1912 with a shimmed blade. The Palmolive soap grated in a tub is as always superb and I am enjoying Omega's little 'Chunky Chubb' boar brush. Finished off with some Nivea balm and German Pitralon...

Soap: Gilchrist & Soames (face'n'fingers lather)
Razor: Parker 99R
Blade: Treet Black Beauty (1)
EDT: Terre d'Hermès

Lovely slick lather from this soap which I pinched from a hotel stay - it's not actually meant for shaving, but I was getting sick of the Gillette canned goo I've had to resort to since passing on the Newbie box.

I started with the edge of this blade I used on Saturday, but it was a bit tuggy so I quickly swapped it for the other edge - not quick enough to avoid a nick unfortunately. I'm coming to the conclusion (which seems to be the consensus) that these blades are 'one and done'.

First time with this TTO razor, and I'm loving the weight (100g, according to Connaught). It's much easier to find an angle that works than the Tech, but judging from the amount of touching-up needed, finding the perfect angle will take a while yet.

And since there's no trains to Bristol today and I've subsequently booked today as a holiday, a splash of Terre d'Hermès which my good lady likes very much.

Happy shaving, All.

3/4/18

Brush - Zenith B07
Soap - Cella
Razor - Yaqi DOC
Blade - Polsilver SI
Post - Benjamin's Bay Rum

I'd used the Zenith B07 a handful of times and been somewhat frustrated by the brush's lather consumption so decided it was best to use the fridge treatment on the brush for a few days. Today's shave was the first after the treatment and even though it's too early to decide whether it worked or not the brush did seem to hold lather better than before.

The bleached Zenith brushes are unalike the Omega brushes I have not at all scrubby in the slightest. My face felt like it was being massaged by a fluffy cloud opposed to be exfoliated by a scrubby brush!

Tue 3 April

Omega 11126 boar
Williams Aqua Velva Cream
Mongoose B3
Schick Proline [ 9 ]
Williams Aqua Velva A/S Lotion

At the very last moment changed from use of a soap to the little used Cream. I rather overdid the amount of product needed in the bowl so ended up with a very rich creamy Lather. However, I found that the lather really enabled me to have a very easy and comfortable Shave, with a nice close all round finish.
I actually think that I might squeeze one more good Shave from this blade.
