Today's last shave was with the mid setting and also using a soap I'm beginning to like a lot. A clear cologne scented soap, I assume is glycerine based as it can be melted. It gives a lovely lather with loads of slickness which Igor loves. I am again face stroking smooth.

Regrettably will be passing Igor on. I've loved every shave so grateful thanks to Tom White for the opportunity of using this ingenious piece of kit.

Farewell Igor:

Tuesday 3rd April

OSP Barber Shop soap
RazoRock 400
Rockwell 6C plate 5
Voskhod (2)
Lime witch hazel
Old Spice AS

That was enjoyable. The Rockwell is quite tame on higher settings.
Old Spice to finish amd I was left refreshed.
I'm awaiting an R41 from the BST, so hopefully that will be the razor I use next.
What blade I'll use is undecided, but it won't be a super sharp blade for sure !

Wednesday's SOTD :)

Pre-shave - Warm shower, Wright's Cold Tar Soap wash followed by warm water splash.
Cream - Speick.
Brush - Simpsons Chubby 2 synthetic.
Bowl - Via Barberia Omega.
Razor - Rex Ambassador.
Blade - Astra SP (Green) (day 4).
Post shave - Myrsol After Shave Balsamic Water.

A very pleasant 2 pass shave - WTG and ATG, face and neck - no issues to report. DFS+ finish.

The Speick cream worked a treat with the Chubby 2 synthetic; it felt as if I was painting my face with silk, if that make sense.

All the best,

Chris

Razorock Hawk
Schick Proline P-30 (7)
Mondial Antica Barberia Original Citrus
Nivea 2 Phase & Hugo Boss Boss In Motion

A good shave today, really enjoying this balde, has never failed to give a good, comfortable shave. I'm hoping I can push it to 10 uses, this blade and razor has certainly impressed me with regard to the AC single edge razors. May have to eventually try a General to see if that could be the razor killer for me.

A good lather, a little bubbly at first but dialed in easily enough. Very light citrus scent to it, reminds me of Le Pere Lucien Italian Barbershop minus the spices.

Wednesday's shave:

The sceond run out for the Schick Krona, currently with me via the Lending Pool. Having used a Polsilver blade last time - had a change and went for an Astra green. Much smoother and enjoyable shave.

Probably the last time I use the Vulfix 404 prior to a knot replacement project. Love the handle, but have never really got on with the boar/badger knot. Fancy a Plisson type synthetic replacement. The sort that can be found on Aliexpress. Never done it before. But thats what Youtube & forums are for!

Prep - Hot shower, L'Oreal face wash & warm towel.
Razor - Schick Krona.
Blade - Astra SP (1).
Cream - Gentlemen's Face Care Club Original.
Brush - Vulfix 404.
Post - Cold towel & The Real Shaving Co balm.
EDT - Hugo Boss Tonic.

Happy shaving gentry.

3 passes - no cutting myself today!! Not quite as close as the last shave but also no blood, so... o_O

Soho Joe Original Face Wash
Maseto 30mm silvertip
Phoenix and Beau Oberon Soap
Geo. Wostenholm and Sons Pipe Razor
A little alum, and
L'Oreal Men Expert Balm

On a totally different note, I smelled Creed's Aventus and Vetiver this morning, and I know I loved one of them... but I can't work out which one! It was on my hand on my way home and smelled great. They're out of my price range really though. Ah well.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Castle Forbes pre-shave gel
Brush: Tony Forsyth P&C LE 2017 Platypus
Cream: Musgo Real Spiced Citrus
Razor: Gillette Slim (setting 8 first pass) (setting 4 on passes 2 and 3)
Blade: Vintage NOS Wilkinson Sword French Brown (5)
Post: Myrsol Emulsion / Thayers Superhazel
Scent: Alvarez Gomez Barberia Cologne

Another 5 day growth dispatched by the Slim and the very sharp vintage Wilkie blade.
Didn't get the lather quite as slick as I have before with this excellent cream, but still OK. Three passes for a DFS.
The Musgo Real creams contain lanolin, which for me gives a lovely moisturised post-shave feel.

Brush: Vulfix 404 Boar/Badger
Soap: Eufros Cronos (sample)
Razor: Pal Golden
Blade: Schick Proline B
Post: Warm then cold water rinse, Pinaud Clubman AS
IMG_20180404_161934.jpg

Only the second outing for the Golden but as the first outing was with a Pal vintage blade this the first time I've seen how it shaves.
It was also my first go with a Eufros soap, and thanks must go to @Sid James for a very generous sample, Cheers Steve :)
Well what a fantastic shave that was the Golden did everything you'd expect from an Injecto-matic and revelled in the slickness provided by the Cronos.
I can see why Eufros has so many fans, pretty good performer and post shave. The scent is hard to suss out, in the little tub it smelt quite floral (hence the Clubman), once lathered up it was woody and tobacco? The Clubman wasn't the best marriage in the end.
Happy Shaving one and all.

Evening shave.

Olive Oil Soap
La Toja Shave Stick
RazoRock Bruce 24mm Synthetic
Gillette Super Adjustable Black Beauty
Astra SP (2)
Thayers Witch Hazel (unscented)
Pitralon Classic Aftershave

I thought that I best give my synthetic brush a run out just in case I manage to get away for a few days any time soon. And if I do I think I will take the La Toja stick. Such a good, fuss free lather.
