SOTD : Saturday 30th March - Friday 5th April. 2019.

Mr Blademonkey may I ask what are your thoughts about the Vector. I am looking for another SE and torn between it and the Oneblade Hybrid.

Thanks
Mr Satanfriendly,
The Blackland Vector is worthy of your consideration, it's what most of us users of the artist club type blade's have been waiting for.
Compact and at 77g relitively light compared to what has gone before, it feels nimble in use and with the range of blades it will accomodate it can be a mild but effective every day razor to a Cobra like razor for when you want that deep shave.
It is well ballanced and totally in proportion and feels good in the hand.
The cherry on the cake is it is available to buy through the shave lounge who will be stocking the polished version later this month providing Blackland have them in stock to be sent.
I hope this has been of some help. :) P.

Absolutely brilliant and very thankful.

I could only do bright and shiny so thanks the heads up. If I was to say anything negative about the Colonial it would be its Matt military appeal.

I also warm towards the nimble aspect. As great as the General is it is quite a lump to throw around ones face.

Thanks again. Looks like I might have to change my user name to Satanfriendlymonkey being as monkey seems quite a fashionable postfix

On we roll on the road of Aristocrats and this one comes courtesy of a No. 58 set. This particular razor has been referred to as an Aristocrat Junior in print ads of the era though at 71 grams, I don't know just how “Junior” this guy is. Love the knurling pattern on this and it is quite distinctive. There is a “II” stamped into the underside of the blade tray and the corresponding red leatherette case has the red retaining band that appeared around 1956.

Soap of the day was RazoRock Plaque Doctor and quite a good soap it is. Scent is a nice blend of herbs and flowers with some musk. I can pick out lavender and violet and the matching AS knocks it out of the park.

Brush today was the Simpson Special 1 in Best Badger. This brush is affordable and has a very comfortable 40mm loft and 19mm knot. Lathers nicely and a 30 second load got me enough lather for three easy passes.

Lovely three pass shave with a touch up (just because I was just enjoying the scent) and BBS achieved. Well on with the day and on to the weekend! Happy shaves all!!

As much as I like the looks and feel of this British equivalent of a G Bar, I regret to say it does not do it for me. Despite my best efforts I just not seem to get a close Shave with this Razor, always there seem to be stubbly areas left. I get similar results with a Push Button, and almost gave the featherweight away free.
