2nd run with the GC tried a Kia today , not a blade I use often but always forget how nice they are. The Game Changer was smooth and delivered a great shave again.

The Starling is rather aggressive like an ER 1924, without the efficiency. In fact Shave Time is quite lengthy and the quality of the finished Shave is about equal to those that I get from an HFT, OK but not brilliant. I have not yet tried the Open Comb plate, but so far this newbie is nowhere as good as the best of my Vintage SE Razors.

Wonderful smooth, close, two pass shave this morning with a new Le Pere Lucien soap. This is a lightly scented tallow soap with an aroma that can best be described as caramel, and a lather that is thick and slick. A good soap.

Last Italian soft soap sample...

Mild scent which did come to life a little once lathered, a natural almond that isn't sweet like Cella/ABC but more nutty... I found it quite pleasant. Performance was good, adequate slickness and cushion etc, no irritation issues with this one. Post shave very good, nothing to complain about.

The league table looks something like this now...

#1 Boellis 1924 Panama (stellar performance and nice scent)
#2 3P (stellar performance and acceptable scent)
#3 Valobra Almond (very similar performance to 3P but more expensive, though it does have a slightly nicer scent)
#4 Cella (good performance and meh scent)
#5 Vitos Extra (average performance and bleh scent)
#6 ABC (not good on any level really)

N.B Although I say some are stellar performers vs others which are only average, whilst this is true the actual difference is quite small (5-10%.) This being a hobby forum where we nitpick to the nth degree I think this is normal, for me the difference between a good soap and a so called "elite" soap is very small.

Very pleasant scent from the cream is well enhanced by being warmed in my Giles scuttle.
