SOTD : Saturday 30th March - Friday 5th April. 2019.

Just out of curiosity
I have the same razor, got it recently as Ebay Bargain.
How have you managed to date it to a particular year? Has yours got an embossed Gillette logo or a etched logo?
Just interested to see if I could date mine too, that's all!
Thanks
Chris!
It's acid etched. It was advertised as a 1968; if it was American it would probably read N2 on the base plate. Incidentally, I have an N2 Travel Tech.

Others may know. It might even be a Frankenrazor; not that I'm bothered. It is a good wee shaver. Got it in a leather case that holds scissors and blades. For a song off Etsy, as I recall.4247942480

Vitos Tobacco Aftershave

First use of Tabac Cream, kindly gifted by @Digimonkey , and I was impressed with its performance.
A very small amount went a long way and the lather was thick, glossy, slick, and with a stronger scent than Tabac soap.
How I haven't used this cream before is beyond me - I really enjoyed using it.
Finished with Vitos Tobacco Aftershave, also gifted by Iain.

Sotd - today - the second of April -

Razor - Colonial General Alu on ES stainless steel handle
blade - Schick Proline (lost count)
brush - Yaqi Moka two-band
soap - Vitos 'Red Extra' - tallow
post - witch hazel
a/s - Floid - 'Mentally Vigorous'
balm - none.

Result - sweet.

Until recently - I had never tried Vitos soft soap - the one used tonight - for the second time - was - thanks to the generosity of a fellow member - the third I acquired - after 'Eucalyptus' and 'Supercrema' - they are a wee bit different from each other - but not by much. They all work very well for me - the 'Red Extra' probably just noses it in the slickness stakes - I find all of them stupidly easy to lather - they don't seem hissy at all with the correct amount of moisture - very forgiving. The scents are not much to write home about - but at this price point it's about performance - they pass that test - in my opinion - handsomely. I received a generous lump from @Paul L which I pressed into an empty MWF ceramic dish - perfect. Found the dish in the recent 'great tidy up' - it is good to re-use things - but it does contain the implication that I actually finished a product. Really? That's not like me. Ha ha. If you are cool with non-vegetarian soap - give it a go - see what you think. Connaught and Gemstone Trading sell it in smaller quantities. Thank you again P. - you are a gentleman. Enjoy your shaves - yours - I.
