Omega 10066 brush
Ever-Ready 1912 SE razor
Gem blade, shimmed
MWF soap
Old Spice AS

Received 1912 in the post today, thanks to @Blademonkey
Put a blade in and started shaving.
I have used a 1914 before. And i need a light touch with that as it is quite aggressive.
(To me anyway)
With the 1912 i found the angle straight away, it was just more intuitive.
The blade also felt smoother in this razor than the 1914, and i found myself not even thinking about the shave it was that easy. I think the 1914 will probably be put away and 1912 put in its place.
Fantastic razor.
I have said before, Just get a cake of MWF. I would like to add, just get an Ever-ready 1912. You will not regret it. :D:D
Thanks Paul, :) for getting me into SE razors.

Sotd - Tuesday 5th of June

Razor - Yaqi DOC black head on a Rockwell handle
blade - Super Iridium (1) - the vintage St Petersburg ones - silver and blue tucks
brush - Yaqi 24mm High Mountain White badger
soap - OSP UKWSS tallow
post - alum, Boots rosewater and glycerine
a/s - OSP UKWSS tonic
balm - Weleda.

Result - great -

Continuing to have to find warm weather shaving software variations - I don't use this soap enough - it is ideal for the situation. Although there is no scent information listed on the label of the tub - I think quite a few refer colloquially to it as the 'herb garden.' That's about right in my opinion - somewhat medicinal in effect - grassy too. Nice and uplifting - think Myrsol Agua Balsamica in soap form - which it works with very well but I went for the matching splash - there is a real nice 'ooft' of menthol as you apply it on a warm evening. I'm not sure if you can easily get this OSP variant anymore? For a final touch the Weleda balm suits the scent profile a treat - and in my experience - it is a damn good product. Forced to use alum and the rosewater as I had run out of witch hazel - not sure about this - probably best i get some more witch hazel tomorrow. Picked up the new - for me - razor head after reading the take and observations of @DeeCee on this Yaqi model - I have previously used the red and black one identical to his post today but forgotten I had an unused black variant. I had originally gone onto Yaqi to get a head only to use with a heavier handle but the red and black ones I thought were kind of cool looking - I'm shallow - got them both - what can I say? I concur with pretty much everything he had to say about the razor - it is certainly assertive - you know that you're shaving - and would want to be paying attention to what you are doing with it. I've used plenty of open combs before but never a Yaqi double open. I didn't find an issue with the lightness and diminutive size of the coloured version but the dynamic - as DC wondered - is very definitely changed with a bigger handle for me. If there was any temptation to use pressure - the weight helps alleviate that. Both versions gave me an excellent close shave - but the heavy handle approach was superior for me - if for no other reason than that - I decided to test the first one with a Kai blade - what was I thinking? Sharper than a samurai's sarcasm. Idiot that I am. Got away with it - just - yours all - enjoy your shaves - I.

@Oomer - B. - I'd agree with what P. said. I've used mine about 6 or 7 times since getting it - and it's just getting better and better as it breaks in. It hasn't lost a singe hair - another advantage was that mine didn't smell terrible when it got wet for the first time - no need to shampoo it - just set to breaking it in the best way - by using it. Granted the handle is surprisingly large when you take it out the box - but because of the shape of it - you naturally grip it just below the knot where it narrows - its no problem - unless perhaps you had tiny, tiny hands - says he artfully moving on without breaking the forum rules. I would recommend this brush - if you like this style of knot - as someone else pointed out - if you stuck a more 'prestige' name on it - people would happily pay in excess of a hundred quid for it. Cheers - I.
I'm sold thanks buddy;)

Date: 06 June 2018

Pre-shave:- Cold Water straight from the tap
Brush:- RazoRock Plissoft Synth. 24/57mm knot
Soap/Cream:- Mitchell's Wool Fat (rub my face like a shaving stick)
Razor/Blade:- Merkur 34C / Gillette Stainless #1
Post-shave:- Thayers Witch Hazel & Tea Tree Oil / Lucky Tiger Aftershave & Face Tonic / Lucky Tiger Face Moisturizer

Tuesday 5th June

Mitchell's Wool Fat
YaqI Chianti 24mm Synthetic
Rockwell 6C plate 3
Voskhod (3)
Blue Stratos A/S

Not the most comfortable shave last night as the blade, on it's third use seemed to have dulled quite a lot. On it's last use it seemed to have a very keen edge so I thought it would perform well for at least one more shave. I persevered until I got a good enough finish without applying too much pressure and without any mishap.
Finished with Blue Stratos, which for me is a good performing aftershave for the price.

I've got the day off of work today with the Mrs. The weather outside looks fair and bright. I think an ice cream along the riverside at Bakewell is on the cards !
