SOTD : Saturday 2nd June - Friday 8th June 2018

Brush: Omega S10083
Cream: Cella
Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum(5)

I'm travelling again, and I bought a palmolive shave stick especially. But then I went for a walk around Venice and found a tub of Cella. Cella was the first 'proper' shaving cream or soap I ever used (thanks to the Newbie pass-around box), and it will always have a special place in my heart. That doesn't mean I can use it properly, of course. after a first attempt with not enough water on the brush, I used too much and ended up with a very wet lather with no cushion. What was left on the brush was perfect for the (partial) second pass, though.

I had intended to use the new edge on the Astra, but subsequent investigation revealed that I'd loaded the blade upside down when transferring it back from the Parker. It was immediately obvious that the blade wasn't as smooth as you'd expect from a new edge, but it was still very much up to the job on day 5.

Happy shaving.

Greetings,

Today was the acid test with the perma-sharp blade. Regardless to the blade, i normally use it for two shaves then it's binned, but today i've carried on with the Perma-Sharp on it's third shave pairing it up with my Parker Variant on it's second outing. The verdict?...Remarkably smooth, it's performance felt just as it did in my previous shave. Amazingly smooth, very impressive.

A very enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of Geoffrey Beene ~ Grey Flannel A/S lotion.

My face is feeling smooth refreshed, & smelling devine.;)

Enjoy your day, ladies & gentlemen.

Merkur 34C
Gillette Platinum
Stirling Synthetic
Barrister and Mann Reserve Classic
Clubman Reserve Whiskey Woods

Thinking of buying a Limited Editon Seville in the Reserve base so I did a shave with the Reserve Classic to remind myself how the base works. And it works great!

I couldn't recommend it high enough, it may be a problem if you don't like large handles but I find it to be a great brush so much so I've ordered another one to put away because the prices are slowly going up and they change their lines all the time, a great brush! :) Fit and finnish are spot on. Tuesday 5th June

Olive Oil Soap
Vitos Pre Shave Cream
Vulfix Persian Musk Shaving Cream
Giles Shaving Co Bowl
Yaqi Barber Synthetic Brush
Parker Variant (3, 4,5) with a Wilkinson Gillette Blade
Alum Block and Rinse
Aloe Vera Gel
Aqua de Colonia
Al-Rehab Silver EDP

Second use of the Variant and I am still impressed. I wouldn't class it as an aggressive razor....but it is incredibly efficient and shaves beautifully. It reminds me very much of my Progress which I lost 10 years ago. I didn't replace that one as in those days I was more interested in skin removing aggression rather than stubble removing efficiency.

3 passes for a wonderful BBS shave:)

+1 on the Cella. And Venice.

Prep ~ Valbora Glylcerlanoina soap & Shower
Razor ~ Colonial Razors General (Brass)
Blade ~ Feather pro Super
Soap ~ P&B - Baskervile
Brush ~ Jagger Custom Boar
Post ~ Vitos Tobacco Aftershave
Scent ~ Minotaure - Paloma Picasso

It's looking dull and damp outside today so the Baskervile shave soap from P&B seemed the perfect choice, it's one of those scents you will love or hate......I loves it!
The General fitteded out with a pro super is a razor that is hard to beat, leaving me with a BBS Finnish.
The leadwood handle on my jagger a Custom although heavy was the perfect weight for me and soon whipped the lather to perfection.
Vitos aftershave fror the shaved bits and to wake me up,
To finnish off a spray or two of Minotuaure by Paloma Picasso edt

Phoenix and Beau Denali (sample)
Semogue 1460
Face lather
Merkur 34c
Sputnik Teflon Coated
Thayer's Cucumber and Aloe Vera
Alcolado Glacial splash

A sunny and (at time of writing) rather warm Edinburgh prompted me towards a menthol experiment. I opted for a two-pass routine today; as yesterday's 1912 shave didn't leave enough for a three-pass fellow, especially with the relatively tame Merkur.

The Denali and Glacial have left me cooler than a cool thing. @Barry Giddens and @Digimonkey , the samples you both kindly sent over are still going strong; kindest thanks again, chaps.
