3/9/20

Soap - Lea Menthol Cream
Brush - Zenith Euro X
Razor - Gillette Old Type
Blade - Personna Lab Blue (2)
Post - Witch Hazel
Balm - Nivea Cooling Kick
AS - Signature Soaps A Danum Splash

I've had my Old Type for a few years but never quite enjoyed using it to begin with, but right now probably down to improving my technique and using the razor with a sharp blade and the right angle I'm finding it produces absolutely delightful shaves, I'm growing to like it as much as my favourite Techs now.

A good lather with my Zenith Euro X, but it shed 4-5 bristles in the shave, it's a brush I love using but I've never quite got it to stop shedding on a regular basis.

Pre - Shower / Face wash
Cream - GFT Eucris
Brush - New Forest
Razor - MÜHLE R89
Blade - Wilkinson (3)
Post - Saponificio Varesino AS - Cubebe (sample)

A nice comfortable shave, one nick just under my chin. Other than that feels nice and smooth (apart from under my chin as I went easy after the nick). I've now transferred the remaining contents of my Eucris to a smaller tub as I want to use this tub for another soap. I quite like the Cubebe As, I may get a full sized pot.

Performance of the new soap is top notch. Exactly what I expect from OSP. Musky and floral.
Great to have a new offering from James Riley.

A nice lather from the Arran soap co for the shave, the little X1 working really well as a face latherer. it would make a great travel brush ( if i was going anywhere).
The Blade is as smooth as the first shave so it will get another run out, not bad for 5 shaves.
Finishing today with the matching balm and splash leaving me BBS and smelling very nice.

Half way through the shave i heard the tell tale signs of the dogs going ape for the RM postman, the Hermes driver had already been.
Very quick delivery for the Osbourne Garrett & Co KROPP pair.
They are even better in the hand, a wonderful addition to the Str8 collection.

Stay safe and enjoy your day.

Day 3 of Signature September

Razor- Rex Ambassador
Blade- Voskhod
Brush- Chubby2 Best Badger
Soap- Signature Hibernia
Post- Thayers Cucumber & Ebocorum splash

No shave yesterday so started the Rex on setting 3 for the first pass.
The Voskhod wasn't as smooth as the Personna and gave a lot more audible feedback. In a few areas I could feel some tugging so its maybe not the blade for me in this particular razor. Down to setting 1 for the other 2 passes.

Soap is a nice citrus scent, can really smell the lemongrass through it but I went overboard with the water and had to go back to the tin to top up. Lost 3 hairs off the chubby as well but we live to fight another day.

Have a good night one and all.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: P&C LE 2020 Matilda Rhodium 2-band Silvertip
Soap: Speick
Razor: Wolfman WR1
Blade: Vintage NOS Gillette Swede (5)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel; Aqua Velva Ice Blue Aftershave Splash

This is right up there with the closest shave I have had the pleasure to experience this year. The Vintage Gillette Swede blade is super sharp, but also very smooth.

Rooney 1/2 Ivory Finest (24/53)
I Coloniali shaving soap
Haircut & Shave P076-SB Titanium
Personna Titanium (12)
Barrister & Mann Cologne Russe aftershave

First use of the razor, and I couldn't be more pleased. Even with a blade at the end of its life, it gave me a smooth, close shave to rival those of my Paradigm 17-4 and Wolfman WR2. Definitely superior to a Paradigm Titanium II and my WR1 titanium. If I didn't value the variety of my daily shaving experiences so much, I would be happy selling off all my other razors and just keeping this one. No doubt the great I Coloniali lather contributed too on this warm Indian Summer morning...

Good evening everyone, I hope you're all well.

Pre- Barts Grapefruit and Pink Pepper ASL
Brush- Yaqi 26mm Werewolf
Soap- PAA Gondolier
Razor- Yaqi DOC
Blade- Astra SP #9
Balm- Barts Rosemary and Sandlewood

Fairly happy with tonight's effort. I think the blade has ran its course now so I'm going to keep the Yaqi going for a few more shaves with a different blade, unsure which yet.

Stay safe everyone, keep smiling.

Garry
