Fri 4 Slantember SOTD Soap Stirling Executive Man Brush Yaqi 24mm Mountain Lake Badger Razor RazoRock German 37 Slant Blade Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless 2nd Post & Aftershave
Ice Water + Special Thayers Mix
Hyaluronic + Clubman GentsGin
Super nice soap. Love the scent and really impressed with the lather quality. Creamy and slick. Load directly from soap tub.
Today's slant razor pairing with the blade is perfect! 3+1 multiple direction passes was smooth and comfortable all the way. Very efficient too. No weepers nor irritation. Icy water rinse followed by Thayers then soothed by Hyaluronic. GentsGin was great smelling and love it!
Pre - Shower / Face wash Soap - MWF Brush - New Forest Razor - Mühle R89 Blade - Wilkinson (4) Post - Saponificio Varesino AS - Cubebe (sample)
MWF is a soap that given it's reputation, for years I have wanted to try. Despite it looking good in the picture, the lather wasn't good at all; too airy and dissipated. Many reasons for that, there are threads discussing MWF so I won't go into it here. I did get brush burn, and just about managed a decent shave. I'll give it another try next week. If it's no good, it'll go in the shower to wash with.
Crikey that is a terrible picture, I have a lot of respect for the fine SOTD photos but mine isn't one of them!
Onto the shave
Razor - Flat Bottom Tech
Blade - Treet Black Beauty (1)
Soap - Lea Menthol
Post - Witch Hazel/Nivea Balm
AS - Signature Soaps Danum Splash
The theme of my shave today was to use items I've sent here, including the Flat Bottom Tech sent by Paul @pjgh, a Treet Black Beauty sent by Paul @Blademonkey, the Lea Shaving Cream from Chris @Boycie83 and finished the shave with Danum Splash sent as a tester by @BrianH.
A really great shave, with each additional shave with the Flat Bottom Tech I'm growing to appreciate it more and more and I'm understanding why it's so highly regarded, it paired incredibly well with the Treet Black. Not a bad lather with the Lea Menthol/Yaqi even if I loaded too much water to begin and had a sloppier lather than I usually like, seemed to work well enough.
