Pre-shave: Cold water splash. Soap: Signature Soaps - Vectis Hybrid Grapefruit, Frankincense and Lavender Brush: Muhle Silvertip Fiber. Razor: Above the Tie - Windsor SSR1 Blade: SuperMax Super Platinum (Day 1). Post: Cold water splash - Myrsol Metisol.
First run out with the Windsor SSR1 - a early evening shave 2 days growth - DFS+/BBS- after 2 passes. A very smooth and efficient shave - it felt as if I was shaving with a SE - the Windsor really gripped the blade.
The shave was not without incident - a nick on my jawline and some weepers on the neck - I rushed my prep today and possibly should have washed my face first, before the shave. Early days, very pleases thus far.
Pre-shave:- Cold Water straight from the tap Bowl/Scuttle:- Captain's Choice Brush:- Yaqi Sagrada Familia Tuxedo Synth. 24/53mm knot Soap/Cream:- Stirling Spice Razor/Blade:- Merkur 34C / Voskhod #13 ...... finished Post/After-shave:- T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent mixed into the 240ml bottle with Natural Glycerin (20 drops) & Tea Tree Antiseptic (5) / The Stray Whisker Aftershave Balm (Australian made)
Voskhod has finally lost the edge and was starting to dull on the 3rd pass shave. Overall throughout the shaves, I'm pleased to say around 12 maximum per blade is pretty darn good with the 34C as YMMV. My next test again with the Voskhod using the EJ 3one6 to see how far Voskhod can reach to the maximum.
