The S.V. Tundra Artica is a new soap to me but it has really grown on me , I like the fragrance and it produces some great lather. I have used the Dart two days in a row and it gives a nice close shave but I find it needs a very click lather as the contact area seems quite wide.

This evening brought with it a shave and the theme 'Hone alone'

Don't try this at Hone - Hone brass
Hone is where the heart is - Feather
Oh give me a Hone where the buffaloes roam (and I'll show you a house full of cow shit) - Cadman Tuxedo in CF effect
Close to Hone - DR Harris Arlington
Hone sweet Hone - Alvarez Gomez Barberia

Time to go Hone - Teddy on loan from my granddaughter Zuzu (yes I did ask her permission, but at two and half she couldn't give a toss)

Bring on that heavyweight of razors the brass Hone. Bring on that sharp blade and just generally 'bring it on'. Against my past experience of Feather blades this one is amazingly on shave No.4 and continues to happily cut away in a smooth and orderly fashion. I am not sure if it is just a great pairing with the Hone or just a freakish outcast of a blade. I think the first option sounds more the case.

Last night I used the same combination of razor/blade and I was so blown away by the way it just scythed its way through two days growth with such consummate ease I thought I'd give it another blast this evening to see how it coped with that simple everyday routine of the daily shave. Brilliant is the best way to put it. I would happily place this razor in the milder side of life, but its sense of efficiency is mind bending and getting close to what that aggressive bastard the Ikon SB can achieve. It doesn't miss a trick....and a bristle at the same time. It is simply an amazing piece of design and engineering which does exactly what it is supposed to do in a most relaxed manner. You would have to be hard pushed to draw blood and at the same time hard pushed to get a bad shave. I am loving this and it does remind me that not everything is SE.

The Arlington just to jog my mind that there are some damn fine soaps in the cabinet vying for attention. The Cadman making short work of brushing duties.

Altogether one amazingly wonderful shave and smoother than a...a...a very smooth shaven face, with the Alvarez screaming 'White shirt, white shirt', but it can go piss off as PJ's and bed it is. I'll treat it to a white shirt in the morning.

All you folk of the Shaving Room have wonderful weekends and wishing you all the best.

And what would a happy SOTD be without some Japanese girlies. In this case 'Aldious'

Pretty girls, pretty frocks, high heels and as heavy as you fucking like

Teddy looks pissed off.

Probably at being made to hold all your stuff.

86A9DB15-72B7-4971-9803-2E54EEAB9418.jpegToday's razor was the Timeless Bronze OC .78. Beautiful razor with fit and finish being as nice as my Timeless SS .95. The Bronze has a reputation for being pretty aggressive but I loaded it up with a Super-Max Blu Diamond and took it slow.

Soap of the day A&E Cafe au Lait. Wow! What a great scent lots of chocolate and coffee...makes you hungry! Great performer too! Very impressed all around with this one and the only A&E soap I have. The matching AS was also quite nice!

Through a very wonderful two pass DFS/BBS. What an incredible razor! Very efficient but quite smooth.
