SOTD . SATURDAY 28th JULY - FRIDAY 3rd AUGUST 2018.

Tuesday 31st July

Wickham 1912 Russian Leather
RazoRock 400
Rockwell 6C R3
Astra SP (1)
Floid Mentolado Vigoroso AS

A cooling cold water shave after a humid day at work.
I hadn't used Russian Leather soap for quite a while and I really enjoyed it.
For me, a new Astra in the Rockwell is a good combination. Smoothness and efficiency in equal measure.
WTG and ATG passes and I was left completely smooth.
Finished with Floid. I skipped my usual application of witch hazel and my skin didn't disapprove.

Razor - ATT SE 1
Blade - Schick Proline
Brush - Zenith TS506 Synth
Scuttle - Steve Woodhead
Cream - Maca Root
Post - Thayers Witch Hazel
Aftershave - Davidoff Cool Water

Prep ~ Shower, D.R.Harris Almond Bath Soap
Razor ~ Blackland Dart
Blade ~ Astra SP
Soap ~ Klar Seifen - Almond
Brush ~ S.Jagger - Purple Heart Boar
Post ~ Floid Black Aftershave
Scent ~ Penhaligons Sartorial

My first proper use of the Purple Heart Boar brush that @Steven_Jagger had given me some time back and due to its small size I thought it would make a great travel brush and then I purchased the small puck of the wonderful Klar Seifen Almond shave soap and thought, I've just got the brush for that!
Holding the puck in my left hand and the brush in the other I soon whipped enough soap to enable me to do three passes without returning to the puck! Bloody marvellous ,thanks Steven , just the job.
Today I loaded the dart with a blade I know to be middle of the road in terms of effectiveness, the Astra SP, I still needed a light touch because I feel no matter what blade is put in here it would probably bite if you rushed or was to use too much pressure..
As with my previous shaves with the Dart today's was a good one and the Astra SP worked well leaving me with a great finnish and no blood loss to report :)
A good splash of Floid Black Aftershave which fully woke me up followed by a good few sprays of Sartorial from Penhaligons and I was done. Looking good & smelling great! :)

Wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday ...........P.

Razor: Barbaros 'TR-2'
Blade: Wizamet Super Iridium (1)
Brush: El Druida '2 Face' Manchurian
Soap & Splash: Extro' 'O' Selvaggio'

Just received this beautiful brush from Javier @ El Druida. Immaculately turned and I love the wood smell. Fantastic performer, soft tips, good backbone, and nice lather release. It will be super fun to break this one in.

SOTD Wrdnesday 01 August 2018

Pre-shave: Warm shower face wash Musgo Real Classic Glycerin Oil Soap and cold water splash.
Sosp: OSP Bay Rum.
Brush: Simpsons Duke 2 Pure Badger.
Bowl: Little Wren Pottery.
Razor: Fatip Grande.
Blade: Astra SP (Day 5)
Post: Cold water splash and Harris Bay Rum splash.

A very efficient and smooth three pass shave. I'm loving the Fatip; no pressure it feels as if it glides over my face. I wish I found this razor years ago.

WTG; XTG and ATG - happily no issues to report.

One of my mates spotted me stroking my face on the bus; had to explain BBS

The OSP Bay Rum performance was excellent, everything came together today.

All the best,

Chris

12th DE shave

Prep: Warm water rinse, BBA Face Wash then Proraso Pre Shave Cream
Cream: Figaro Shaving Cream Almond
Brush: ES Medium Jock synthetic
Razor: Merkur 34c
Blade: Feather Hi-Stainless (1)
Post: Cold rinse, Floid after shave balm.

I know I said I wouldn't change much from my new routine, which seems to be working really well for me.......BUT!

The Newbie Pass Around box arrived today and I couldn't help myself. I only have fourteen days with it and I want to try everything!

I asked my 14 year old daughter to choose a shaving soap and it came as no surprise when she chose the most pungent smell she could find - Figaro Almond. The smell is explosive as soon as the tub is opened. I pressed on with it regardless.

I tried the BBA face wash which gave me a fresh squeaky clean face. Then on with the Proraso pre shave cream. It was fresh too with a pleasant menthol smell. I could feel my stubble almost standing straight out (that doesn't sound right! ).

Which leads me on to the blade. I've read lots of reviews and, more importantly, warnings about Feather blades. A pack was in the box and I couldn't resist. I tried not to think about the warnings and shaved as normal. Surprisingly no weepers...at all. I used the new learned J-Hook technique on my touch ups again and it worked wonders.

After a cold rinse I fired on some Floid aftershave balms which have a slight burn and fresh feel. A BBS finish and fantastic feeling skin. Love it.

I'll try another approach tomorrow, though I'm really liking the Feather blades.

Have a great evening folks!

PS - my daughter phoned me to tell me the box arrived so I resisted going into the Gentleman's Groom Room. Once I've decided on a few things I like I'll pay a visit then remortgage the house!

Do not resist; resistance us futile

If your into DE Razors the Dart is a great way to start off your Blackland collection :) tomorrow will be my seventh day running with it proving it can be used as an everyday razor, you just need to pick the blade that's right for you......P.

Morning shave

Olive Oil Soap
PannaCrema Nuavia Verde
Thater 4125/2
PAL Injecto-Matic
Schick Proline (4)
Tom Ford Mandarino di Amalfi EDP

A day off so the opportunity for a right old mimsy in the bathroom this morning. But I have appointments with the dentist, chiropodist, and physio today so it's not exactly a fun filled day ahead. Oh well, at least I smell nice. I certainly hope that my feet do. Have a good one gents.
