What a difference a Day makes, 24 little hours.
That was my shave of the week, i'd forgotten what a good brush the Moka synth was and a lovely face lather was had, easily enough for 3 passes from about 1/2" of the vintage Gibbs cream.
The Platinum blade was really smooth from about the 3rd stroke, noticeably so. I will give it another run out next week. With the slim set on #3 i completed 3 wonderfully smooth passes.
A nice Tabac post shave routine leaving me BBS, Comfortable and smelling all Kojak.
Stay safe and enjoy your day All.

Wednesday 1st July
Alpha Outlaw - Wickham 1912 Apricus - Rocnel SE-P Open Comb - Euromax Platinum #1 - Osmanli Lemon Cologne - Wickham 1912 Apricus ASB

My last 2 shaves with the Rocnel were smooth, close and excellent. Which told me I'd really got a handle on this very unique razor.
I bought some Euromax saloon blades as an experiment, plus they were less than £3 for 100. Yes, I have been known to like a bargain.
What an excellent blade it turns out to be, as the shave was smooth and truly marvelous. In fact as good as the ½ Nacet gave me the last time I shaved with the razor.
If this blade gives me another good shave in 2 days, I'll be delighted.
I have the same blades for my shavette. Really nice and smooth blades and yes very cheap too! It's £1.5 for 100 from where I am from...

Another shaving cream test for me this evening...Palmolive Menthol...
  • Usual pre-shave wash with ash Brito Glyce soap
  • Palmolive Menthol bowl lathered with Phoenix AA 'Green Ray' synthetic
  • EJ89/Nacet/Razorock titanium
  • Cold rinse and alum
  • Osage Rub post-shave splash

Excellent shave cream, lathered fast and very nicely with the synthetic brush (but synths do seem to be particularly well suited to creams). Not a massive menthol hit but I made up for that by using Osage Rub (just starting to get into a new bottle). I didn't bother with any EDT because, as you will know if you have experience of Osage rub, it will do to most fragrances what the Hulk did to Loki in that Avengers movie.
I'll also mention that for the last couple of years I have not used any under-arm deodorants or anti-perspirants, but instead use products like Allume di Rocca...basically it's just alum in a plastic pot. It's a very non-invasive way of inhibiting under-arm bacterial growth and of course you can rub it over your face after shaving if you're so inclined. As such I reckon it makes a great travel combo deodorant and post-shave item(y)

That's my shave tip of the month...Good evening to all:)

Do you think it's a SuperMax? I'm running a SuperMax Blue Diamond Platinum through at the moment and then going to try a EuroMax.

I do expect it may become a rarity rather like the Mongoose from the same stable.

Thanks patw. Yes, I've used that as well. I assume that it's all the same stuff...just alum shaped like a roll-on...but I'm sure there are claims about manufacturing processes that some brands use to justify higher prices...I mean, 'Allume di rocca' sounds really posh don't it? It does work though!

Now also available in a cardboard box for those wanting to reduce their plastic useage, I too only use Salt of the earth as a natural deodorant ( Cardboard box ) :)

You know what? I've moved to synths to protect the badger, boars and horses; now I'll move to cardboard to reduce plastic waste! Is this an Amazon cardboard box...i.e. ten times bigger than it needs to be?:)
