In the beginning - there was a word - and that word was dreich - then there was another word - lavender.

Prep - facial scrub
razor - Gillette Slim (3)
blade - Lodz Polsilver (?10 or so)
brush - Maseto two band
soap - Speick cream
post - witch hazel
a/s - Quorum
balm - Barts Lavender oil
scent - Homme de Caron edt.

There may be a few barometers to judge whether you have an issue with the amount of shaving porn you own - and this - dear reader - is just one. I went to find something in the den earlier - and noticed a cardboard box at the back of a shelf - what's that? - a Maseto two-band brush - that's what - brand new - the knot had never seen water - since rectified. I have no idea when I bought this or how long I have had it. I think I have a problem - admitting this to the group is a good thing - cathartic - acceptance is the first stage of recovery. The mice found this hilarious - like I am going to be judged on my shaving habits by a bunch of wee furry bastards that wouldn't know one end of a Slim from the other? No danger. I got tired of their mocking squeaks and sent them next door to watch tv - who would have thought that rodents are big James Garner fans? - the lads are now quite happily binge watching episodes of 'the Roquefort Files,' on cable. - stay safe - enjoy your shaves - cheers - I
It if a cheesy series though, suppose you can Camembert it though!

Just finished this evening's shave...not a cream this time but a soap...
  • Pre-shave with warm water and Ach Brito Glyce soap
  • Stirling Soap Co. Wintergreen Glacial
  • Face lathered with Yaqi Cashmere 24mm
  • EJ89, Gillette Nacet (4th maybe 5th shave now?) on Razorock Titanium
  • Cold rinse/Alum rub/cold rinse
  • Stirling Soap Co Wintergreen Glacial Witch Hazel and Aloe

Well this soap is definitely one for those who need help waking up in the morning or want to cool off on an extremely hot day. Even after priming this with hot water for several minutes, I found myself using quite a bit of additional water to thin the soap out to lather nicely. It seemed a little thick on the brush and the face; however, it did provide a nice lubrication and I really felt the zing of the menthol throughout the process. Two passes and a very slight follow up on the jaw...job done.
I used the witch hazel and aloe splash afterwards...not as much of a zing from that as I expected but maybe my face had just been numbed into hyperthermia by then. Quite a pleasant face feel now...after about 20 minutes...I'm considering a post shave balm and Proraso Green seems appropriate. I like this soap but I reckon I'll be using it sparingly, so this pot should last a while.
For me, a satisfying introduction to Stirling Soap Co. stuff:)
Good evening to all(y);)
