Fri 2nd SOTD with New Brush
Soap Ariana & Evans Peach & Cognac
Brush Boti 26mm Fan Silvertip with acrylic wood handle
Razor Fatip OC Grande
Blade Hammer Stainless (Astra SS 3)
Post & Aftershave
Ice Water & Special Thayers Mix
Hyaluronic + Clubman Whisky Wood
Wow is the brush...it expanded a lot. Really soft...perhaps too soft? Need to learn how lather properly with as it sure traps loads of unseen water. Brush also seems to 'swallow' loads of the soap too...
Shave with razor paired with the Pif blade...1st wtg pass...ouucchh....it skips and tugs...ouucchh..can't continue. Replaced with the Astra SS 3rd. Much better and smoother for a complete 3pass but some weepers. Ice water rinse stop that and no irritation. Aftershave was good-Cognac & Whisky combo...

Brush - Omega 11819 (24mm/55mm)
Soap - Tabac Stick
Razor - Fat Handle Tech
Blade - Treet Platinum (2)
Post - Witch Hazel
Balm - Nivea Cool Kick
AS - Denim Original

Even though I had a pretty good lather for yesterday's shave, my Omega boar was a floppy mop of a brush and for today's shave I soaked the brush for a few minutes less and it made a world of difference! The brush had some backbone for building the lather today, managed to get some more air into it. As for the shave itself, I found the Treet Platinum in yesterday's shave to be a little too sharp whilst paired with my Flat Bottom Tech and I picked up a little irritation beneath my jaw; so for today's shave I paired the blade in a slightly milder Tech, the Fat Handle and took a bit more care shaving under my jaw to avoid applying too much pressure.
Pleased with the results though, the Treet Platinum is a very good blade and one that seems to work very well with vintage Gillettes. Finished the shave with some Denim Original splash which is a nice good old fashioned barbershop style splash.

Have a good Friday gents.

Brush also seems to 'swallow' loads of the soap too...
Most of my Badger brushes seem to do that. The lather goes in the brush rather than on it. Still perfectly usable lather and gets on the face with ease. That was also the biggest difference I notices with my only synth brush, the lather sits on its rather than in the brush.

Fat Friday

Pre - Shower / Face wash
Soap - MWF
Brush - Traditional Shave Co Badger
Razor - MÜHLE R89
Blade - Personna Red (4)
Post - Kouros AS followed by Moisturiser

A nice two and half pass shave today. I'm so pleased @pjgh sent me a sample of his MWF after my duff puck. I wouldn't have bothered with trying it again. It really does work well. It's the second try and used a badger brush rather than synth. Works just the same.

Giddup!
This razor never lets me down, i had to check on the WTG pass to make sure there was a blade in it, the rinse water was saying "yes" the face feel was saying "no". A really smooth shave leaving me comfortable and BBS from 3 passes.
For the Lime buffs out there the Stirling Co is my favourite, the scent is ever present throughout the shave and it lingers, the 4711 is a perfect match.
Stay safe and enjoy your day All

Old Spice...

A couple of days a go I received a delivery of three 30g tubes of Old Spice 'Original' flavour shaving cream and gave it a go late yesterday evening...

Software: Glyce Lime pre-wash soap | Old Spce Original shaving cream | Shulton Old Spice AS splash

Hardware: Hammered copper bowl | Razorock Starcraft synthetic | EJDE89 + Nacet blade on Timeless Titanium handle

oldspice1.jpg

This cream had a very pleasant but very mild scent and a small amount created a lather that would easily cover multiple passes. It was thick and cushiony and overall a really nice shave in two and a bit passes with a blade I'd already used 3 or 4 times. The 30g tubes are only travel size and that is precisely how I will use them...in the dopp kit(y)

I've also tried the lime version... same kind of performance but not much of a scent. Worth having though for a guaranteed comfortable shave.

Have a great weekend all:);)
